Merry Christmas loves 3 I promise I'm using every spare second of break to work on AVMC. Hope you're having a wonderful break, hopefully I'll see you guys again soon :)

He'd been messing around with Christmas carols all evening while the small gathering was buzzing, filling the room with chatter and bustle and warmth. But now the party had calmed down, everyone just enjoying the quiet talk and each other's company, and the fuzzy feeling that came from Christmas Eve.

Ellen and Bobby were in the far corner by the tree while Ellen added more presents at the bottom to be opened the next morning. Jo was tucked into Ash's shoulder on the couch, and Jess was laid out on the opposite loveseat in Sam's lap. Cas had bounced around all night to different people, chatting a little with Benny and some more with Kevin. Charlie and Dorothy were lazily draped over the recliner, and Dorothy was playing with Charlie's hair.

Dean had talked with his family too, but had spent most of his night in the small foyer across the hall at the piano. Cas tried to pull him back to the festivities throughout the evening, but eventually respected Dean's space and knew he would come back to the others when he felt like it.

Dean fiddled with the beginning of "Hey Jude," just as Cas came to watch. He scooted over to make room on the bench for his best friend, and Cas sat down lightly next to him, not wishing to break the spell of the evening.

"Show me?" he murmured quietly, and Dean gave a small smile. He reached over and took Cas' right hand to place it over his own, and Cas lined up his fingers with Dean's to sit over the keys. Dean began to play again, quietly singing along.

"Hey Jude… don't make it bad. Play a sad song, to make it be-e-etter. Remember, to let her into your heart. Then you can sta-a-art, to make it better." Cas put his free arm around Dean's waist and felt his voice reverberate through his chest. He continued to 'play' the tune with Dean, and when it got to the chorus, he chimed in with his own quiet "na-na-na-na's" as well. When it was over, they realized the gentle silence, and noticed that most had gone to bed, or were napping in the other room either way. Cas smiled as Dean turned to face him.

"Merry Christmas, Dean." Dean pressed a kiss into Cas's hair and pulled him close.

"Merry Christmas, Cas."
