What is love?

It may seem like a simple four letter word. It may seem like an everyday word that is easy enough to define. Wrong. The truth is, love is an extremely complicated concept. It is an emotion. And it is one of the strongest and most powerful. It is so complicated that no one has ever been able to put their head around it.

That being said, many diverse races and people have different interpretations on the meaning of love. Some interpretations are radical, others are slight. Many believe that love is a deep and profound thing to care for. It should be treated as something to hold dear to your heart. It is something even more to behold than the most beautiful of physical objects. What you see with your eyes is not love. What you see with your heart is love.

Others believe that love is a common thing. It's not a huge deal. It's a part of everyday life. We see everyone around us as something to cherish and recognize as part of the community. And if that love happens to make itself known to you as a friend, as a family member, or, most commonly recognized, as a romantic partner, it intensifies.

Another common definition is "simply" that love is precious and very sensitive. Not nearly so strong and resilient that it can penetrate the hearts of even the most hard-hearted soldier, but rather a weak thing that must be treated with the deepest respect and admiration. It must be saved for a very very close relationship. Like a duo who fall in love and decide to spend a lifetime together, never to separate.

Ah, these many interpretations. But what most fail to understand is that love is not what everyone sees it to be. Here is the absolute truth. What is love?

Love is just an illusion.
