Both of them worked such long hard days. The feeling of being tired was nothing new, but that day he didn't get home until late, and it was hard for him to find the energy to do more than just sit there and watch Korra move around the kitchen. He tried to look more awake when she looked at him, but she noticed right away how tired he was. She kissed him on the top of his head and told him not to worry, she'd take care of the dishes tonight. He'd been resolved to sit on the couch and talk to her while she worked, but it was such a small step from sitting to lying down, and he thought he would just rest his eyes for a moment...

When they opened again, it was much later. He must have slept for a few hours at least. The sun had set long ago, and all he could see through the window was the black of the night sky. The room was nearly dark, and only one small lamp in the corner was still burning. Korra was there bending down with one knee on the couch next to him. She stroked his hair as he woke up, and smiled as she told him that he could move to the bed, there was no reason to stay out here for the whole night. He smiled up at her, feeling much better after taking that nap.

He propped himself up on one elbow to close the distance between them. The kiss was long and sweet, and her hands twisted into his hair as she deepened it. He leaned back again and she followed him, moving her leg so that she lay across him. She leaned down, pressing herself against him and he sighed as her breasts slid against his chest. They broke the kiss, both laughing, and as she looked down at him he had to shiver at the expression in her eyes. He didn't think either of them was very interested in sleep anymore.
