Shattered Tears

"Sir Fratley..." Freya slowly walked on, trying to get the swarming images of Fratley and his broken promise out of her head.
She could and would not take it any longer. Her love, Sir Fratley, had sworn to return. She had believed him. Oh, what a fool she had been to beleived his promise. He had not returned yet, and she doubted he would.
Freya froze in her footsteps, and looked toward the wet, springy ground. It was dark outside, and the mist was clearing up. It had just finished raining, and morning was nearing. Grasping her lance tighter, she forced herself to move on.
"I can't think of him.. I can't think of him..." She tried to convince herself. No use. She broke down on the side of the road, and fell to her knees.
"I can't help it. Mother always told me that everyone needs to cry sometimes," she began to speak softly to herself. "..and I guess this is one of those times. Oh, Fratley. You had told me so long ago you would return. For the sake of Burmecia, you went to fight. I had told you I would not be able to live without you.. and you... you promised.." Freya thought, memories yet again floating through her head. As she thought, her eyes began to burn, she touched her closed eye with her finger, lowered it, and there was a tear. She hadn't cried in ages.. not scince he left.
"I never thought you would make me cry. I never thought you would lie to me, after I believed in you so.. After I trusted you, and confessed my undying love for you,...you come and shatter my heart, Fratley!" She whispered to herself. She lowered her spear, what was sticking straight in the air, and set it on her lap.
Tear after tear streamed down her cheek. She could not control the tears flowing from her eyes.
"I will travel to the Gaia's end for you, Fratley...I would give up my pride and honor as a Burmecian knight for you.. dear, I would even give my life, for what's the use being alive if I could not be with you? Rumors of your death have reached end to end of the globe... just rumors.. I cannot and will not believe it until I witness you're death myself!" She whispered again, hre voiec trembling. As she got up, the rain began to fall again. Freya felt as if the rain was following and haunting her every step. But she was proud. She was a member of the Royal Dragon Knights of Murmecia. She loved the sound of that. But now, what would it all mean if she didn't know what happened to Fratley? Nothing.
The lonely Burmecian knight rose to her feet, leaning on her lance for support. She wiped away another tear. She continued to walk on, in all of her agony and misery, still thinking of Fratley. The memory would never dissapear. No, not one memory, and not just any memory. The Memories. The memories that would haunt her forever.. Not knowing if the only love she had ever known was gone or not.
Several Hours later, Freya came across a poster. She looked up and brushed a strand of hair away from her eye.
"THE FESTIVAL OF THE HUNT
COMMING SOON
BE THERE AT THE CASTLE CITY IN LINDBLUM."
Freya read this.
"Hunters.. Fratley was always a brave hunter.. I don't care if this is risky, but I have to take a chance..." Freya grasped the poster in her hand, her grip tight. She quickened her pace, and began on her journey to Lindblum.
