Standard Disclaimer: Neither the characters Donatello nor Leonardo belong to me. Nor anything by Werner Heisenberg or Lao Tzu.

I originally wrote this for a meme. I rather liked it, so I thought I'd post it. Enjoy.

Don shut his book with a soft sigh. Leo looked up from his meditation.

Don met his glance. "'Every word or concept, clear as it may seem to be, has only a limited range of applicability.' A quote by Werner Heisenberg, a great physicist. He's talking about the problem of language, mathematical or natural, in quantum physics – 'Here we have ... no simple guide for correlating the mathematical symbols with concepts of ordinary language: and the only thing we know from the start is the fact that our common concepts cannot be applied to the structure of the atoms.'"

Leo was quiet for a moment. "'Tao: If it can be told; it is not the true Tao. Name: If it can be named; it is not the true name.' First chapter of the Tao Te Ching."

Don smiled. "The meaning is the same."

"Simply the words are different," Leo finished.

Both nodded.

Don returned to his studies and Leo to his meditation.
