Chapter One

"Get up lazy ass!" Those feminine words followed with a kick to the chest, and a teal-haired Saiyan child on the floor.

"Ow! What was that for Cela?" Cela was the 9 year old Saiyan's female friend. She herself was also a Saiyan, and that meant that she was an aggressive girl; even at 9 years old.

"We're going to be late again Kae. Get up, or I'm kicking ya again." She didn't even wait for him to utter a word before she ran out of the room.

"Don't tell me what to do monkey butt." Kae got up, brushed himself off, and quickly began to get dressed for school. The other difference between him and Cela was that Kae had no tail, and his hair was teal; he also has purple eyes. He thought she was far enough from the room, and so he mumbles a few words. "...I'm telling your mom that you said the S word."

"What was that?" She points a finger at Kae with a very small sphere of energy at the tip.

"...You're lucky your parents aren't lame." Unlike Cela, Kae did not have Saiyan parents. He was adopted by two humans who valued luxury over everything, and luxury also meant a foreign baby. The only fighting Kae knows is from Cela, because his parents are not fighters, and their fights at school. It's the backbone of their friendship. "I still don't understand why you don't just go without me. We're old enough to go alone now."

"Because I promised your mom I'd keep ya in line." Kae caught the next punch she threw.

"I was expecting that." A small smile formed on his lips. "I'm not the weak punk you first met." It was an odd friendship. Normally, kids shunned other kids if they were too aggressive. Since they're Saiyans, they get a little excited when a punch comes their way. Often times, however, Cela lets out her thirst for fighting on Kae due to him being the only other Saiyan in the school. Cela only smiled as she pushed Kae onto the floor with her fist alone. "W-what the?!"

"You were saying? Let's go." This would bother Kae for the rest of the day. He hated when she held back. It also made him wonder what she saw in him.

At school, the two kids had an odd relationship. Even in planet Kteas, the 'cooties' scare was present in the school. That made making friends hard due to so many of the kids not liking the opposite gender, and to an extension people with friends of the opposite gender. It was time for recess, the part of the school day that took place just before the school day was over, and both kids were looking at each other.

"Ignore 'em Cela. Kae's a weak loser." This is Cela's right hand woman, so to speak. She goes by the nickname 'Yano.' While she did not mind Cela's friendship with Kae, she did mind boys. Primarily Kae. To her, he was the toughest boy at the school who─as a result of his race and strength─gets the most attention from Cela. "He's probably giving you cooties from hanging around him so much."

"Screw her Kae. Cela's a dude under that skirt with her man strength." On Kae's side was who they called 'big bro.' He is a 12 year old kid who keeps getting held back for picking fights with the bullies. At one point, he fought Cela for picking on Kae, and ended up on his stomach in under a second.

"Do ya mind repeating that?" Cela cracks her knuckles and walks towards big bro.

"S-Stay away from me queen kong!" Due to great apes having terrorized the planet before, they have coincidentally earned the nickname 'kong.' Big bro quickly hides behind Kae.

"Leave him alone Cela." The anger in Kae's eyes was from her holding back earlier.

"He's the one calling me names. Shut up if you can't own up big homo." Both Saiyans had a shine to their eyes. A shine that the kids at the school recognize.

"Fight. Fight! Fight! Fight! Fight! Fight!" The students began to chant the word as more began to group up around the two kids. Even the teachers began to join in on the chanting; they knew what Saiyans were all about, and so they stopped trying to break up their fights a long time ago. One teacher actually ended up in the hospital for getting in a punch collision between the two kids. Due to Cela's parents actually training her, because of her sparked fighting potential coming to light a few months ago, she seemed to read all of Kae's attacks. Every punch, kick, and leg sweep was blocked.

"Is this it?" This only seemed to infuriate Kae more, and he got a sudden spike in speed that let him land a punch in her face. "..." That made her give his face a full-force punch that knocked him out.

"Yeah, I figured." All of the teachers agreed simultaneously. One of the teachers also had his parents on speed-dial. Saiyans or not, school protocol is school protocol for a fight taking place.

Kae would find himself in the nurse's office with a bag of ice on his head, and his parents in the room; his dad was looking down on him angrily and decides to speak first.

"What did I tell you about picking fights with the neighbor's daughter? You know she's stronger than you." This was Haring, Kae's step-father. He is a college graduate with blond hair and blue eyes. Fighting wasn't his strong suit, but he was very protective of his child. Haring seemed to have a thing with khaki pants, and long sleeved shirts.

"Oh come now Haring. You know that Kae doesn't have an instructor, and you refuse to let the neighbor train him." This was Caron, Kae's step-mother. She, like her husband Haring, is a college graduate with brown hair and yellow eyes. She was just two centimeters short of Haring, and seemed to have a thing for differently colored Chinese dresses. Her color of the day was purple. She was not as protective of Kae due to her having studied Saiyan biology and psychology at her University; it was originally for one of her old boyfriends that she wanted to marry, but plans change.

"You know as well as I do that those Saiyans are barbarians Caron. The way they train their child is abusive, and our son is above such brutality." Kae was only looking at his parents back and forth as they spoke. He didn't know whether to feel ashamed for his race being called barbaric, or if he should feel happy because his father said he was above being a barbarian.

"I have a name you know. It's Russ." A Saiyan male, very athletically built, walks into the room with his arms crossed. "I don't want to hear you talk about bad parenting when you're not even letting your Saiyan son train." Russ never wore any shirt or shoes. He was a little modest, however, as he wore black baggy pants with a belt and a white sash; similar to Broly's pants, but without the jewel. Oddly enough, Russ was shorter than Haring by a whole foot.

Haring was startled by the sudden appearance of the man. "When did you pop up Russ?"

"I can sense when people are talking shit. That, and I heard my daughter won again." That made Russ smile.

"Well you have a quip for everything don't you?"

"Well I have the muscles to back up my beliefs."

"What's that? No one can hear your beliefs from down there."

Caron cleared her throat as she pointed to the empty seat Kae was previously on. "He's gone you two. And I'm pretty sure Cela's with him."

Both men spoke simultaneously. "What?!" This was unusual. They usually waited for their parents to come and get them at the end of the day. They always had a story to share.

"I'm getting Kae his own instructor. In the meantime, go find them and make sure they don't wander off to a dangerous place." Russ only scoffed.

"Don't tell me what to do."

"Do it or I'm going to tell your wife secrets that will make her stop training with you for a week." This surprised Russ. He's never seen a weak being threaten him before with such confidence.

"You don't have shit."

"Planet Bekab." Russ didn't know how she got that information, but he was too afraid to ask.

"...Let's go look for our kids."

"Where are we going?" Both of the kids asked the question at the same time. They were following the nurse who seemed to be leading them to the gym.

"I need your help moving equipment from the gym. You two are very strong, so I figured why not you two?" When they got into the empty gym, the doors locked immediately. Kae asked the question first.

"What's happening?" Both kids got into a defensive position.

"You two monkeys don't belong at this school." The nurse began to glow red from the eyes, and she was surrounded with a cold purple energy. "You two must die."

"Like hell you'll kill me!" Cela lead the charge, but she was immediately stopped by her tail being grabbed. "H-hey! That's not...cool.." Kae was suddenly glad to not have a tail.

"Let her go!" Kae gave the nurse a barrage of his own punches, but she seemed to be blocking them all with one hand. After the twentieth punch, she grabs his left arm and flings him to a wall that is not padded; she proceeds to fly to the boy and jab his stomach with her knee.

"Pathetic." She tosses Cela at Kae's body like she was a baseball. Cela was still able to stand, and she did not look happy.

"You cheap piece of shit. I'll turn you into dust!" She lifts her left finger, and she begins to create a large sphere instead of a tiny marble this time. This seemed to surprise the nurse.

"How does a child have that kind of power?" It was time to stop messing around. The nurse begins to form energy in the right hand alone, but someone chops her neck to knock her out. It was Russ, and he did not look happy either.

"Put that away Cela. You'll destroy the school." She takes a breath and makes the ball of energy disappear. Not only did they both look unhappy, but Kae looked the most discouraged.

"What the hell Cela?" He couldn't believe how much she grew in a matter of months. "Y-ou made me think w-we were only a l-ittle different, but you could d-do this the entire time." It wasn't just unfair to Kae; it was bullshit. Just what has her father put her through? He tried to get up, but only fell back on his butt. Russ recognized that look, but he wouldn't let it be the end of him

"And?" Russ crossed his arms and looked at Kae. "You're a Saiyan. With each fight, you only grow stronger. Even now, when you got the shit beaten out of you, you will recover and grow stronger." His eyes then looked over to Cela. "And you. I taught you better when it came to your tail. For that, we're going to put off ki control lessons for another two weeks."

"Awww what? That's lame! And how did you get in if the door is closed?"

"Teleportation, and make that three weeks. If you want to make it four, keep whining." Haring, meanwhile, was crouched by Kae and giving him something to eat.

"Take this Kae. It'll help." He fed Kae a pill that would help heal his injuries over time. Seeing his child injured was not a good sight for him. "If the lack of training results in this, maybe I should let you train son."

"D-dad.." A side-effect of the pill was drowsiness, and Kae succumbed to it. Russ looked over at Haring as he picked up Cela.

"So you see it now. Your kid is a natural born warrior, but your parenting has made him soft." He noticed the bruise on Cela's cheek that couldn't have been delivered by the nurse. "He hurt my daughter. That's proof enough that he has potential."

Russ stands on his roof and looks at the stars. He swears he recognized the energy that came from the nurse, but he couldn't quite put his finger on it. His wife stands behind him with her arms crossed.

"What are you doing Russ?" Her name is Toma. She the same height as Russ, and tends to wear the normal trends of the planet. At the moment, she had short shorts, sandals, and a tank top on. "Is this about the school incident?"

"Yeah. I know I've sensed that power from somewhere, but I can't put my finger on it."

"Relax for one day." She wraps her arms around Russ. "I know where you can put your finger."

"Ew! Mom!" Cried Cela.

"I can't relax right now. Cela was close to blowing up the school, and now there's this threat to the planet."

"Oh I'm sure you'll kick evil's ass again. From what you've told me, you one chopped that bitch."

"That's the thing. I haven't gotten a good challenge in a while. I want that bastard to come at me." He pounds his right fist into his left palm. "Don't make that pun hun."

"Aw you're such a prude."

This chapter serves as both the intro to some characters, and as a beginning to improve my casual writing (and oh boy do I need to improve). Any feedback for the writing would be greatly appreciated.
