Merlin's thoughts in Morgana's last scene.

The horses fled off so quickly it was unnatural something had spooked them, and no ordinary thing, a person that's when I knew she was here, watching waiting for the right time I looked round trying to find her, also trying to keep an eye on Arthur who lay on the ground tired, exhausted.

Hello Emrys, She was here, I spun around quickly but before I had time to react I was thrown into the air at full speed and sent flying backwards. She had grown incredibly powerful in such little time. I could hear her whispering to Arthur, no doubt sharing her disgust in him. She wasn't going to kill him we both knew that. Morgana knew the prophecy just as well as me and would be proud to say that the mighty king had died at Mordred's hand.

I won't let you die alone dear brother, I will stand and watch over you, until the wolves feed on your caucus and bathe in your blood.

It was now or never, I walked closer and quietly to morgana from behind and drew my blade.

No Morgana time for all the blood shed is over, and I meant it for too long now Morgana had been feared by the people of Camelot for too long had she caused pain and suffering and for too long had she killed so many people in the fight to get what she wanted ; the throne of Camelot.

I blame myself for what you've become, if I had just left things to be when Kilgarrah had told me from the beginning none of this would have happened, Uther would not be dead, Gwaine wouldn't be, and Arthur would not be lying helpless in a forest.

This has too end.

She smiled slightly so quickly no mortal could see but I did.

I raised my sword a bit higher still not high enough to cause any damage but she didn't care.

I am a high priestess no mortal blade can kill me.

She was right. Without a seconds hesitation I plunged the sword deep into her stomach, she gasped struggling for breath, when I drew closer to her, my sword still causing damage and whispered But this is no mortal blade like yours is forged in the dragons breath.

She gasped one last time, before I twisted the sword in her to make sure. Then she fell to the ground. It seemed so unreal, so dehumanised how it only took a piece of metal to kill someone. She stuttered trying to speak words as she lay on the ground but she was drained and her words were inaudible and with that she was gone.

Goodbye Morgana
