Sunset of the First Age

The Lace of Ages Volume 1

This is the preliminary volume of the Lace of Ages Chronicles and depicts the events that led to the end of the First Age, the rise of the Tamyrlin and the Aes Sedai. This work may contain factual inaccuracies and much that is fabricated, for it was written by One Who Sees Into the Past, whoever that was. It is not known whether this entity is a credible source. However, it is the only writing that remains that gives us a comprehensive look at events of so long ago. It was recently uncovered in a library on the island of Tremalking, its owners having committed suicide.

This work contains many fanciful ideas and mysterious contraptions that we are not familiar with. For example, it is clear that in this age, there was a thing called a "cell phone" which was, strangely, used for both far-speaking with others and telling time. If you encounter such strange devices in this story, keep an open mind and remember that they may only be the fancies of an imaginative mind rather than solid facts.

The other volumes of the Lace of Ages Chronicles are currently lost, but will be made available to the general public one they have been located. We already have leads that Volume 2, about the rise of the Age of Legends, may be somewhere in the libraries on the Seanchan Kingdom and are making efforts to approach Empress Fortuona for a copy of the manuscript.

While we procure that volume, please enjoy this one.
