Ziva shifted in her seat again, wishing that she could fall asleep. Why is it so easy to sleep on a C-17 yet so impossible to sleep on a civilian plane?!

The truth was, she was nervous and excited. After all this time, she was going home, back to her family, and she could scarcely believe it. When she had received her orders, she had been overjoyed; sure, it was painful to leave her friends; and, of course, it was a pain to pack up all of her belongings. But going home was worth everything she had gone through. Now, she was less than 2 hours from the only place she had ever truly loved and, though exhausted, she had never been happier.

I can't wait to get off this plane, she thought. It'll be so good to see Abby and, on Monday, the rest of the team. If I'm lucky, I'll never have to leave home again.
