One-Winged Butterfly o1
The sweet scents of the assortment of flowers nature provided blew around the field. Petals were whipped off of flowers to sail off with the wind.
She stood there in the center, a mask covering her face. It was eerie, an expression that was a cross between unreadable and gloating.
Underneath that mask, there was a hidden doorway to memories. Blue closed her eyes, and even if she did not wish for them to or not, a flood of forgotten memories tore at her brain.
Those claws.
They were crushing her head.
She was being crumpled to nothing...
To nothing...
With these small hands...
She couldn't struggle...
Nothing...
~ POV - Blue ~
--
A cage.
---
Sin. 罪。What wrong have I done?
--
"Come!" rang the child's urgent voice. "We have to hurry!"
---
I'm coming...
--
"Fly!"
---
I am a butterfly.
--
My wing has been torn off.
---
"PLEASE!!" the voice is pleading to me...
--
I am a one-winged butterfly. I cannot fly with one wing.
---
"NO! HURRY!! PLEASE!!" the child's voice is frightened now. The one wing flutters helplessly.
--
I can't...
明日。
---
... see tomorrow...
見えなくて。
--
A feather.
---
"NO!!!" the child gasps.
--
Pick it up... the urge for family and friends veils my future before my very eyes.
---
A One-Winged Butterfly
--
Cannot...
---
Fly...
--
Without...
---
Another...
--
Wing...
---
Birds fly with feathers.
The feathers of a bird and the wings of a butterfly...
--
Surely... now I can take flight...
---
I grab the child's hand. He has tears streaming down his face. We spread our wings.
--
The sin of wrath cries as two birds escape from their cage.
These two birds carry a torch.
---
These two birds carry a lighted torch...
希望。
These two birds carry a lighted torch of hope for the future ahead of them.
Hope...
Future...
Light...
I see a light...
~ POV - Narrator ~
"Blue!" Silver called to her. She gazed at them through the mask. Green looked at her strangely.
Flowers blew around the field once more, like a waltz.
Silver and Green were sure to see clear tears as soon as she lifted that mask from her face.
The wind caressed her hair and sent petals scurrying over the grass.
She lifted the mask as flowers danced about. She wore her usual smile, her eyes shining.
"But... why?" Silver asked quietly. As if she could hear him across the field, she gazed up at the sky.
"Let's wish for a happy ending this time," she murmured. She dropped the mask on the ground and headed towards the two, knowing very much that her future happiness lay within her friends.
So here's some filer angst because I had no ideas for what to do next!! No, joking. I needed a fic centering on Choosen/Oldrival because of the reviewers on 'Infection', so this is the result after listening to 'Dear You - Hope'. Yeah.
