It was a bright and clear morning in August when a boy of 16 entered an old and worn inn.

"May i help you young" man said the owner without looking up from his books.

"Yes" said the boy, "I was wondering if i might have a room sir".

"Name" said the owner in a bored tone, "trace" said the boy "Trace Legacy". "Very well Mr. Legacy that will be three pince, thank you and you will be in room 7".

"Thank you" he said as he paid the man and took the key and went to his room, where once there he put his stuff in the appropriate spot and left to explore.

As he was walking around he came upon a sign that read.

SLAVE CHILD FOR SALE CHEAP

IN HOUSE NEXT TO TAVERN

ACCEPTING BEST OFFER.

After reading the sign he continued on his way with a nagging feeling in the back of his head telling him he should buy the slave, Sure he did not approve of slavery, but there is little he could do about it.

He finally made up his mind and decided he could at least look at the slave, but somewhere in the back of his mind he knew that no matter how he tried to convince himself he would most likely by it.

It was the middle of the day when he finally got to the house and knocked on the door, It was answered by a young man. "can i help you sir".

"yes i was wondering if you still had the slave for sale".

"yes one moment please let me get my mother would you like to come in and sit down sir". "yes please that would be most appreciated he said as he was led to the sitting room".

a few minutes later a middle aged woman came into the room and sat across from him and said."good evening Mr"... "Oh my apologies my name is Trace Lagacy mam".

"Mr. Lagacy may i ask why you came by". "yes you see i was wondering if you still had the slave for sale and if i could see it".

"why yes of course billy would you bring the slave from the basement then get back to your studies". while they were waiting the engaged is idle conversation.

he looked up when he heard footsteps and saw the boy from earlier with a child behind him, she had gray fur with a white stomach and spots all across her back to the tip of her tail and she had a smattering of spots on her right cheek, all of her spots were black.

He had an instant liking to the child, it was a need to protect. He got up and circled her so as to look as if he was thinking of it.

It broke his heart to see the frightened look on the child's face as he continued to circle her he finally asked "how much". "200 pds".

"very well here" he counted out the money and gave it to her as she got the paperwork together for him. He signed the paperwork and was given the keys to her chains and control cuffs.

He thanked the lady and bid her farewell for he did not wish to be in there any longer than he had to. He told the child to follow him and as he made it back to the inn and up to his room he was hoping he would not regret this decision.
