A/N: hey, ya know how Hotch and Morgan are always the ones kicking down the doors when they catch the unsub? The evil plot bunny in my head said that it would be funny if Reid tried to do it. I wrote this a few years ago when I was on a caffeine kick. It doesn't seem as funny to me now as it did then. Ok, here goes.
WARNING: Excessive, unrealistic Reid self-whumpage!
Disclaimer: Oh, yeah, I don't own Criminal Minds.
The team was at the house of the unsub.
"FBI… We're coming in!" Morgan shouted as he lifted his foot to kick down the door.
"Morgan! Wait!" Reid yelled, coming up from the back. "Let me do it!" he yelled.
"You can't be serious, Reid." Morgan replied.
"I am completely serious, Morgan." Reid shot back.
"Hotch, are you really gonna let him do this?" Morgan asked incredulously.
"Morgan, don't question me. Someone had better do it, or the unsub will get away! Reid, go ahead and try it." Hotch said angrily as Reid ran up to the door with a blood-curdling battle cry, his shoulder aimed at the doorpost.
"Ahhhhhhh...UMPH! Son of a… my god that hurt! Let's try that again." He said as he bounced off of the doorpost and fell to the floor. He then attempted to kick it in.
"Owwwww! I think I just sprained my ankle!" He yelled in agony. "One more try!" he said as he pulled his gun from its holster. "Excelsior!" He didn't stop to think that the bullet might ricochet.
"Let's try to blow the freakin' thing off!... Dammit! It hit my foot! Oh, My God I'm bleeding! I'm going out to the ambulance. Morgan, you were right. Sorry." He said as he limped/ ran to the waiting medic.
Then, Morgan successfully broke in the door and they caught the unsub.
A/N: So the door won, and most of them lived happily for awhile after. The end. Please R&R. BTW, this is my explanation of how Reid ends up on crutches in season five.
