The Protector

Tashigi ran through Alabasta

Breathing heavily she hurtled towards where she saw the woman with the kind

Her marines followed her

' Stop right there!'

They had finally caught up

But they underestimated Nico Robin

She took out all of the marines behind Tashigi

Robin had the power of the devil fruit

And now had Tashigi's sword pointing at her throat

And was about to kill her

Until a hand grabbed the blade and held it back so it didn't touch Tashigi

Blood ran down the sword

Tashigi glanced at the man who had saved her

She recognized him by his green hair

Roronoa Zoro

The man who had made a fool of her

The man that she couldn't beat

The man she had to hide her respect for him

Also the man she had to hide her love for

She loved him

But he was a pirate and hated her

But then why was he saving her

Nico Robin's arms had vanished

The sword was being held up by Zoro

His other hand took the hilt and pulled it out of his hand

She gasped when she saw how badly his hand was bleeding

Nico Robin used devil fruit to pin him to the ground

She left with the king

Zoro was freed when she was out of sight

He walked over to Tashigi who was on the ground

And was about to pull her up when a man came up behind him

It was Crocodile, the man responsible for all of this

He made to attack Tashigi but Zoro blocked the attack

His swords went flying until he was left with just the white one

But it was limp in his hand

Tashigi pulled her sword out and ran at Crocodile

He laughed and pushed her backwards

She fell over

And screamed as Crocodile stabbed Zoro in the stomach

Zoro collapsed

There was blood everywhere

She had tears running down her face

Crocodile was still laughing

' You call yourself a marine!'

He laughed loudly

' Don't make me laugh'

' You can't even protect those who are important to you'

She gasped as those words pierced her heart

Crocodile walked away still laughing

She ran to Zoro's side

He was still alive

He sat up and scowled as he glanced at his stomach

Pulling out some bandages he did himself up

And stood up to head back to town to the fight

She put her hand on his arm

' Thank you for saving me…. twice'

He smiled at her

She had never really seen him smile before

It was a pretty smile

' Let me bandage your hand'

They sat down and she took his hand and wrapped some bandages around it

' Tashigi?'

'Yes?'

' What did Crocodile mean when he said you can't protect those you care about?'

She blushed deeply

She had been hoping that he hadn't heard that

' Umm…..well…you see'

Zoro looked at her

He understood

His lips silenced hers

The kiss was brief but meaningful

They broke apart both blushing furiously

Zoro looked at her

' Don't believe him'

' What?'

' Someday you will be able to protect those you care about'

' I know you will'

She looked at him and smiled

' Thank you Zoro'

' I hope we meet again soon Tashigi'

He kissed her again just softly

' Zoro?'

'Yeah'

'I love you'

He grinned happily

' I was always hoping you did'

' I love you too'

They walked back to town

To help stop the rebellion
