Disclaimer: I wish I could own Game of Thrones but I am not that lucky.

Jaime Lannister sat in his cage within Robb Stark's camp waiting for what was to become of him. He was sure the young boy wouldn't be stupid enough to have him killed even though he knew Lord Karstark called for his head. He killed his sons. He didn't feel guilty. It was their lives or his own so of course he chooses his own.

Jaime wouldn't admit to anyone that he was impressed by the Stark boy having been able to fool not only himself but his father. That was a task very few people could claim. He understood the Starks hatred toward him and his family.

Lord Eddard Stark being held prisoner and accused of being a traitor was not a popular announcement from what he saw. Jaime even knew that was not a true fact. Even if the people here believed in the treason of Lord Stark, the two Stark girls were still being held.

He had no part in any of those things though before leaving Kings Landing. He would admit to attacking Lord Stark and having his men killed for his wife's actions though.

No.

His true crime to the Stark family was what he did to Brandon Stark.

An innocent ten year old boy, who happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. Jaime found himself thinking over those moments many times since it occurred. Over and Over again he wished he had made a different choice.

This choice was his though.

A horrible choice.

A choice he regretted almost instantly. He would never tell Cersei. In truth it was either them or the boy. Jaime could have found another way but he didn't. All he heard was his sister desperate voice saying that he saw them.

He loved her.

He would do anything for Cersei. Even if it meant he was going to burn for his sins. He would protect her and the children they brought into this world. Everything happening right now was mostly their fault. The choices that had made in the past finally caught up to them.

He loved her.

The things we do for love like ours are ugly, mad, full of sweat and regret. This love burns you and maims you and twists you inside out. It is a monstrous love and it makes monsters of us all.

Those words ran in his head many times during the years. He had heard them said before in a play held for Robert in his early years as king. The words rang with truth he never got out of his head. He was a monster.

He loved her.

It was love. A monstrous love.
