I just wrote this because it's been pouring all day and I felt inspired.
When she was a young girl, Rose loved nothing more than to dance in the rain. Her mother told her that her fondness for rain probably occurred because of the intense rainstorm that Rose had been born in. Rose liked to believe that she was a water nymph, flitting back and forth, here and there, through thick downpours and thin showers, putting on a ballet for everyone and no one.
It always seemed to be raining around Rose Weasley, which infuriated all of her cousins when they were young because it meant staying indoors and listening to old war stories from which aunt or uncle happened to be hanging about, or worse, their grandparents. Rose didn't care though, she'd sneak out once the story teller became engrossed in the tale they were recounting and spend hours amongst the small beads of water that would pool around her and drench her hair.
Even when she went off to Hogwarts and was sorted into Ravenclaw Rose still had time to dance in the rain. She would bolt down every single stair and hurtle out the entrance hall just to be free of the stuffiness of the castle and feel uninhibited, because even as she grew older, Rose loved nothing more than to dance in the rain.
As the years at Hogwarts wore on, Rose had several dancing partners. In fourth year there was Charles Woodley, but he had two left feet and the grace of a dementor. She briefly dated Neil Something-or-other during her fifth year; he was so stuck up that he couldn't even bend his knees and he always refused to accompany Rose out into her domain. Several boys followed Charles and Neil, each more boring than the last, but Rose was determined to find the perfect partner.
It wasn't until her seventh year that Rose finally found the one she had searched high and low for. His name was Wesley Rosier, and he was just as carefree, just as brilliant, just as graceful as Rose herself. They were strikingly similar, right down to the brilliant crimson hair and freckle painted face. Every rain started to thunder against the numerous roofs of Hogwarts, they would be the only two rushing down the stairs instead of up them to reach it, because even when everybody else wanted to study in peace, Rose Weasley loved nothing more than to dance in the rain.
A few years later found all of the Weasleys; the two heads of the family, their eleven children, the original thirteen cousins (Teddy included) with ten significant others, the ever single Lysander, and the newest babies of the family (Victoire and Teddy had two beautiful daughters, Molly had recently given birth to a red-head baby boy, and Louis and his boyfriend had adopted a set of Irish twins); gathered for Easter.
With forty-two Weasleys, there was no way that they were fitting inside the Burrow. Several tables were set up in the garden, allowing each Weasley to choose whom they wanted to share the holiday meal with. Unfortunately, the meal was ruined for forty of those gathered when small droplets of rain began pelting them from the sky. While most of the adults rushed to save the food and furniture, Rose stood in Wesley's arms, laughing and smiling and looking up towards the heavens. The two stood in the rain for quite some time before Wesley dropped down onto one knee and pulled a small box out of his pocket. Without any words, Rose accepted and a blue sapphire ring was put onto her fourth finger, because even when she had found her other half, Rose loved nothing more than to dance in the rain.
As Rose walked down the aisle towards he fiancé a year and a half later, a charm was put in place to make it appear as it was raining inside of the pavilion, and the rain stayed until well after all the guests had left, because even on the most important day of her life, Rose loved nothing more than to dance in the rain.
