Everyone in the world is born with a timer on their left wrist. This timer lets out a low beep that resembles an alarm clock once it hits zero. And how does it hit zero, does a person have to conquer the world or follow their destiny? No, this little timer on someone's left wrist counts down to the moment they meet their soul mate.

Two minutes, fifty-nine seconds.

That's what fifteen year old Caroline Forbes timer read as she sat outside on the hot metal bleachers that belonged to her school, during her only free block. Her hands rubbed together nervously.

'Why am I meeting him now?' she wondered. 'I've lived here since I was four.' That was true. Caroline and her mother Liz had lived here with the young blondes father when she was a newborn, but soon left on some business, until her mother and father separated at age four- despite being soul mates -and her mother and herself moved back to their home town of Beacon Falls.

But those thoughts were soon lost once her baby blues drifted to her wrist once more and she saw she only had one minute, fifteen seconds. Caroline bit her lip in anticipation and her arms wrapped around her body as her looked for any sign of a person. Nothing.

Caroline's lip quivered.

Forty nine seconds.

"Where is he?" Caroline wondered aloud. She stood up and bounced up and down on the balls of her feet.

Thirty two seconds.

'Please, please be a nice person-like pops.' Caroline thought, hoping that her soul mate would be like her step father, the man her mother remarried when she was thirteen, aka Sheriff John Stilinski. Caroline liked to call him pops, and her step brother Stiles was known as Batman, since that was his favorite superhero. Though Tony Stark is so much better.

Fifteen seconds.

Caroline straightened out her beautiful white sun dress, one that looked like it belonged in some southern-belle magazine and not on a california girl.

Ten seconds.

Her hands fluffed her golden blonde hair and she licked her teeth. She hadn't had lunch two periods earlier since she didn't want her breath to smell for her soul mate, or to him find anything in her teeth.

Five seconds.

There was no one around. Why was no one around?

Three seconds.

Caroline was going to cry. Her timer was going to go off and no one was around.

Two seconds.

That's it, her make up is officially ruined as she sat on the bleachers and her head found refuge in her hands so no one could see her misty eyes. Lydia was going to kill her. But at the moment Caroline didn't care. Her timer was fucking with her, she'd end up alone.

One second.

"Hey are you okay?" Caroline's head snapped up and saw a boy with blonde curls and a concerned look in his eyes.

Zero seconds.

Two synchronized beeping sounds were let out into the air.

"You're my soul mate?" It was more of a question from the boy and Caroline frowned.

"You, don't want me?" Caroline sounded like a child as the words left her cherry pink lips and the boys icy blue eyes shook his head wildly.

"No! Not at all! I mean, yes!" The boy cried, stuttering and tripping over his own words. Caroline's head cocked to the side and her eyebrows scrunched together.

"What?" And the boy took that as his initiative to sit down next to her and he held his hand out to her.

"I'm Isaac Lahey, sophomore." She took his hand in her own and shook it, smiling along.

"Caroline Forbes, sophomore too." Caroline giggled and Isaac grinned.

"So, you're my soul mate?" He asked again only this time it was more playful than before.

"Guess so." And Caroline intertwined their fingers.

Best day ever.
