This started out as a satirical project.
I don't know if I can call this satire anymore.
I left some of the jokes in case you wanted to see what this was supposed to be.
"Please do not drop the microphones." Principal Celestia coldly stated as she leered at the two boys on stage.

"I.. I can't believe it, eh Snips?" Tearing the shades off his eyes, Snails wiped the tears from his puffy, orange face, his arm shaking all the while. "We lost so quickly, eh?"
"Yeah and it was just a violin solo too." Snips took the shutter shades off his face, staring down at the chain around his neck.
Standing outside the gym, the muffled sound of "Awesome As I Wanna Be" echoed around the duo.
Snails silently eeked out, "Snips this was our only chance to change our rep, eh. We would've been the cool kids for once."
"Come on, me and you don't need to win some stupid contest. Let's get this off us," Snips said as he tugged on the sleeve of Snails's hoodie.

Back in the locker room Snips and Snails stand back to back, taking their accessories off. Snails stuffs the shades into his locker before pulling the hoodie over his shoulders.
Snips looks over his shoulder and says, "It's alright Snails, we got each other. Hey, need help over there?"
Snails, who forgot to take his hat off first, was stuck with his hoodie at his shoulders. He mumbled, "What're you talking aboot? I got this."
"Let me help." Stepping over the thin bench separating the two Snips grabbed the tangled sleeves of Snails's red hoodie.
Snails resisted, struggling to keep the hoodie wrapped around his head. "No Snips. You can't help me. We're a joke. We stick out like lumberjacks covered in maple syrup, eh."
Snips couldn't see the look on Snails's face but the sound of his voice cracking was all Snips needed to know how much the battle of the bands meant to his friend. His friend. It dawned on Snips how important they were to each other. They were inseparable and this was no time to be fighting.
"It'll be okay." Snips said resolutely.
"No, Snips. It's not alright. It's not okay. We can't keep being the butt of the joke, eh." Snails mumbled.
Snips took his hands off his friend and after a moment of thought said, "Just take it from me, I know you'll come around. Some people are lucky, they've got their lives on track. But we're lucky too! We have each other and we can't let the world get us down. Come on, how long have we toughed it out with each other?"
Sniffling, Snails peaked his head through the top of his hoodie and said, "I know. I just wish we had some of that… je ne sais quoi that everyone else has, eh. We're like the Zed-listers of the school right now and I just want that to change."
"It can change. It will change" Snips pulled Snails in for a long hug. It was just what he needed.

A horse-drawn carriage cruises by Canterlot High toward the setting sun. The sound of clopping rang through the small community.
So there ya go. You can probably figure out what this was supposed to be just based on the title and the last two sentences but I changed my mind last minute. I was going to post this on Fimfiction too but apparently they have something against short stories or something. Enjoy this totally exclusive content that you could never see anywhere else!
