Conrad stared at Hanna, then his hands moved down to the ring that sat in his hand.

Four months had passed since that night. That night...Closing his eyes he remembered it perfectly.

"Hanna would just stop for one fucking second and listen to me?" Conrad snapped, not even thinking about how his words could hurt the boy, he was solely doing this to get his point across. "You're going to get yourself killed and..." He stopped hesitating.

"What, Conrad?" The ginger snapped back, folding his lanky arms over his chest, waiting for the other to continue. "I don't care if I die."

"I DO." The vampire finally snapped, walking up to Hanna and pulling him into a kiss before anything else could be said.

It had been another awkward three days of staring at the phone and waiting for something to be said or done before the two actually saw each other again, a kiss hanging in the air between them. Conrad had spoken first, apologizing, and then Hanna threw his arms around him for another kiss, and it had just been a silent, mutual thought that they were going to be together.

The first time they had spent the night together, Conrad had been so very gentle, feeding strawberries to the ginger in a romantic gesture (which was disgusting to watch in a sense, but it was the thought that counted). Following this he felt the feelings of trusting Hanna unconditionally where before he had put up a bit of a guard, watching Hanna play with some glitter like the child he could be at times.

Hanna Cross...the man Conrad would give his own undead life for. He stared at the ring that sat in his hand. Would it fit on Hanna's finger? He hoped it would. Standing he walked steadily over to his lover and then took his hand, glancing at him over the top of his glasses - seeing him as a blurry fuzz of human flesh color and bright orange hair. "Can I have a moment?"he asked softly in his ear, accent lacing each word, bringing a shudder to the younger boy, who nodded.

As they rounded the corner, Conrad gently slipped the ring onto Hanna's hand, thankful - for once - that he was so oblivious. "What did you want, Conrad?"he asked, grinning happily, childishly as he did so perfectly.

"Look at your hand."he said, leaning against the wall, watching as the boy brought up his hand, eyes widen, then stare at him. "It's not what you think it is, I'm sure."he explained. "I'm not ready to get married."he said, "nor do I think that that's legal." A fact he felt he needed to add in when dealing with Hanna. "It's a promise ring."he admitted, looking away from Hanna. "It pretty much promises that I'll be with you forever...a-and even if those rings are just a symbol or whatnot. I do promise it."he said, taking Hanna's face in his hand, kissing him lovingly.

"Together...f-forever?"

"Forever."
