Ruth entered the Grid on a high. Usually it's leaving on a high but, this time was different. Because this is Miss Evershed we are talking about here.
Adam watched as Ruth floated to her desk. Floating is what angels do. Well Ruth is an angel. She sat down and logged on onto her computer. No messages. Just as well. If there was Ruth would be on the floor. Hyperventilating. Her desk was unusually empty. Not tidy. Empty. No files. No nothing. But before Ruth started to worry, Jo walked over with one file. Just one. "Only one?" Ruth ever so slightly confused, it was Monday after all. "Yes only one" Jo's eyes screwed up as she smiled at Ruth.

Ruth carefully opened the file. If there were gloves, she would wear them. First page. Big Bold lettering , in red, stating 'Authorised Personnel Only' made Ruth flutter with excitement. Turning the page, smaller black print dominated the sheet of whiter than white paper. She attempted to read the text. But couldn't. What the hell is wrong with her? Does she need glasses? She blinked furiously until she realised some of the words had ran together. Panic Over. She read, and drank the coffee that appeared on her desk. She didn't know how it got there. Not a clue.

But she hadn't noticed Zaf with two cups of coffee approach her desk. Place it on the empty corner of tidiness. A smile. Then walked off. Her ears were ringing. Well the phone was ringing but she hadn't noticed. The team looked at the bewildered woman, still not aware of her surroundings. Or her job. Adam got up and answered the phone. "Hello Adam Carter" he said to the woman from the Foreign Office. "Ruth. Its for you" She wasn't able to function properly today. She snapped out of her little world. Which probably involved Harry and took the phone from Adams hands. Which were extremely soft. If she had to say so herself. She conversed, consoled and joked with the woman at the other end of the phone. Which was burning Ruth' ear she had been on it for so long.

Whilst talking to Jo and Ros she came across this purple dot on her desk. Looking, examining with her big round eyes. Because lets face it her eyes are gorgeous. But this blue or should I say purple dot took over her mind. Evolving into different shapes. Fractals if you will. And marking certain positions on the table. But one shape. She could see. A man. Standing. In front of her quite clearly. Harry Pearce. She jumped back. Jo and Ros looked at her to see if she was alright. Of course she was alright. She was, after all still standing. They carried on the conversation. Ruth keeping one eye on the dot or Harry Pearce during the entire conversation.

With a change of scenery. That being Harry's office. Her mind was at rest. A handsome man. Sitting. Chatting. Not talking. Chatting. Was making Ruth feel so ecstatic and flamboyant she had to keep talking. Because if she didn't, she would probably spontaneously combust. And nobody wanted that. He held her hand. His hands albeit softer than Adams but yet humanely rough, had a tight grip on her left hand. Why not the right? As she looked into his warm honey, caramel, chocolate eyes. Yes all the sweet edible things. She could see herself in there too. Harry played, twisted with a small but yet quite large lump on her finger. Perfectly making her hand complete. Well not totally complete. "You still haven't 'Officially' said yet" Harry joking but with a seriousness came across in his tone. "Ask" Ruth quietly said. "Will you marry me?"

"Yes"
