Author's Note: Quick thing. Each new 'chapter' will be a new different short unless I label it like 'part1' and 'part 2' because I will be having some of those. Enjoy!
Mother's Day
Trick looked into the window of her old childhood home. It was still the same as she left it two years ago before she died.
The familiar woman whose name once was mother laid on the couch in the living room. She was sprawled across the entire thing, her eyes closed, and amber hair going every which way.
Pill bottles and other assorted drugs littered the coffee table that sat in front of the couch alone with a bottle of vodka. So many memories were made when she was little there. Trick would always sit on the floor and draw in a notepad her father had given her, that was where her talent first began and grew to what it was before that terrible night.
Tears stung Trick's eyes daring to stream down her face as she looked back at her mother. It seems that she only got worse after her death. Her face was sunken and there were dark circles under her eyes.
"Lexi…." the woman said in her sleep quietly. Trick covered her mouth and looked away as the tears were set free. After a moment she looked back into the room. She stared at her mother sorrowfully, how she missed the way she use to be before her father died.
Trick inspected the window and saw that it was amazingly unlocked. She quietly climbed into the room and walked over to her mother. Trick kneeled in front of her mother quietly.
"Happy Mother's Day….. I love you…." More tears ran down Trick's face as she tried to put her hand on her mother's cheek. Since she was a spirit, Trick thought that her hand would go through to her surprise it did not. People were more susceptible to things like this while they are asleep.
Her hand gently touched the woman's cheek. Trick smiled and stood. Deep down somewhere her mother believed she was alive. Trick leaned down and kissed the woman's head before turnings and jumping out the window and closing it.
"I love you so much mom…." Was the last thing Trick said before grabbing her broom, which sat against the wall of the house the whole time.
Jack had arrived just as she came out of the window. He gave her a genuine smile before opening up his arms. Trick sniffed before jumping into his arms and silently crying into his shoulder.
"Shh I know, lets go visit Bunny" Jack said quietly. Through out the centuries and spending time with Trick Jack has figured out one thing. When a woman is upset, go for the chocolate and he knew just the best chocolate making Bunny there ever was.
Author's Note: Yep, first short. I felt like writing this since it was mother's day today. I saw a few of these on Tumblr and felt like writing one myself.
WHY AM I GOOD AT WRITING THINGS SO DEPRESSING?! GAH!
Anyway I'll be writing these as well as my sequel. I'll be flopping back and forth between the two. Hope you all liked.
