The Last Song Of The Pheonix

Disclaimer: I do not own Harry Potter nor am I making any money of this

Summery: The final thoughts of Fawkes as he says goodbye.

Never before had his song been so sweet. The glorious trills were almost unearthly in nature. For 100 years he has used his song to comfort, to heal the hurts of injustice and bitterness. The hands, once so young and lately so brittle, would never stroke his feathers again. His song was of loss, heartwrenching and full of despair. But buried oh so gently beneath, the subtle notes of hope. For he knew better than all, the legacy would live on and that the old man needed him to give hope to those left just one more time.

His tears fell freely on the solemn centaurs, the now silent spiders, and the mourning merpeople hidden in the depths of the inky black water of the lake. He cried freely for both the blessing and the curse of so long a companionship. The sweet and haunting sobs vibrated through the cold stone castle they for so long called home. He knew the old mans body, deviod of his spark, would rest there, glorified in stone. It was fitting. It was right. But the song (oh the song!) The song would be his tribute for the years together. The song would be the old mans accompaniment to his next adventure. As the tears fell he knew the human he kept was humming along as he passed into the light. And he, with a final burst of flame and a last note of love, would follow.

For that was friendship.

That was loyalty

That was a Pheonix song

I hope everyone liked this. It was just something that popped in my head last night. Poor Fawkes. There aren't enough Fawkes stories out there
