He sat in his chambers idly wondering what Godric would be doing now. It had been a long time since his fight with his old friend and now that bond was never to be reconnected. He would have to live out the rest of his life knowing that Godric was dying thinking that he hated him. He didn't know if he could handle it especially as Rowena and Helga had passed even before him. He had wanted to make it up to the other two when Helga died and again when Rowena did but he didn't have Godric's unwavering courage and he couldn't do it and now Godric would probably die before he could reach him as he himself had long ago reached old age even for a wizard. However his own self-interest told him he couldn't handle what would happen if he was rejected by Godric again.

He put down his tea on the table next to the chair in his chambers and settled into bed already in his night wear. He closed his eyes hoping sleep would find him soon.

The bell rung midnight and awoke him leaving him a fright as he saw the Bloody Baron in front of him. It didn't make sense, he had to remain at Hogwarts he couldn't leave.

"Salazar," He moaned his chains rattling. "Salazar," he moaned again sending a chill down Salazar's spine as he sat up in bed, "You need to fix things with Godric, now."

"I…I…can't. He is better off without me as a friend."

"Is that really how you feel? Or are you just terrified of rejection? I have seen your soul Salazar because I am you. And you know you need to fix things."

"I can't. I just can't."

"That is what you think now, but you will be visited by apparitions tonight as each hour strikes and you will see, Salazar. You will see." He moaned as he slowly faded out as Salazar's eyes opened revealing it to have only been a dream.

It was only a minute to midnight, though he could have sworn midnight had already passed. And so again he fell asleep
