A sudden chill alerts him to its presence. His grip on the iron poker tightens, breath hitching, his body freezes up.

The figure advances, this spirit who'd become a ghost when a teenager not much older than himself.

He hears his father's voice shouting from a great distance away.

His limbs are trembling too violently as he clumsily pours salt onto the bones.

"Light it up! Now, Dean!"

He fumbles with the fluid and lighter until suddenly there's flame.

He's pulled away from it by strong arms. Hands pat his back then cup his face. Eyes meet.
