Disclaimer: I don't own Death Note

The girl smiled as she walked away with a man that she loved, she owed him her life, her happiness. Not because she was ever really happy with this person but, it wasn't the life not many would go looking for and find. The life full of secrets, the life of blood covered hands. But, one she didn't walk alone in, one where she had someone to look at, someone who trying to grip on to sanity. Her companion in life, his name was Light, though she knew him by another secret, Kira, the secret that she hid, and hid for as long as she could think.

Another light dims out of her life, as she feels the pain of the truth. She doesn't want the words to run through her mind. I feel so used. Though, she knows that she must keep everything hidden, even her true desires.

She just flipped over on her bed to look at the ceiling, "I'm Aname Misa, who are you" she whispered extending a hand out into air, gripping the air in front of her, sighing as she put her fist back on her side.

She rolled over to look at the window running her fingers through her blonde hair.

When will I be free?

He screamed in his head, searching for something left behind, some small slice of innocence. Though, he couldn't find it. He slammed his fist against the table, the anger of his thoughts running through his thoughts.

His fist slowly opens, the sliver line of water comes rolling down his face. Why me? Why now? As he wipes the tears from his face, with no one to comfort him any longer. Why can't I turn back? Why am I doing this? Why can't I erase this?

"Some things in life may never be erased, no one can take away the damage." He remembered his fathers' words.

I will never be able to erase this…

If I did would still be Yagami Light?

Alone again. He sighed, naturally he wouldn't have a problem with this, but had finally gotten to him. The lack of family.

The lack of friends.

The lack of love.

He was wanting more than sitting in a chair in his life, not just talking into microphones, hiding. Wanting to be free, to take flight in a world of possibilities.

Not to be frozen, captured.

He softly held his legs close to his body, he smiled as tears running down his face. One of the last human conditions he kept, remembering the harsh words of the others "Freak" they yelled and it still ran through his head.

Could I be the one smiling and walking by my hotel, to be one of those people?

No, I could never, the world needs L more than it needs happiness.
