Viva La Vie Boheme

This is not my farewell to RENT, this is not an obituary to the musical, and I am not going to brood over what happened on the 7th of September, 2008.

This is my celebration for how it made its mark on Broadway and its music that defined a generation.

'From here on in I shoot without a script,' Mark announces that fateful Christmas Eve.

'One song to leave behind,' Roger sings as he muses about his life.

'Take me out tonight!' Mimi howled as she entered Roger's loft.

'I'll cover you,' the lovers Angel and Collins sing as they share their first kiss.

'Moo with me!' Maureen cries to get her audience involved.

'They're all just sitting there mooing!' Joanne announces to the bohemians when she got back to the Life Café.

'No day but today,' the cast sings together as the show ends.

So instead of making this closing of the musical a time to greave, but a time to remember what made it so great and got it a great 12 years on Broadway!

Bohemia lives!
