"A Place In This World"
A black haired girl walked down the sidewalk of an empty neighborhood. She wore a red beanie, blue jeans, and a red sweatshirt. Her head was down, watching a rock she kept on kicking as she walked. Suddenly, it started to rain, but she didn't go under any shelter fretfully.
I don't know what I want, so don't ask me,
Cause I'm still trying to figure it out,
Don't know what's down this road, I'm just
walking,
Trying to see through the rain coming down,
Even though I'm not the only one,
Who feels the way I do,
The girl came across a stand of warm, cooked hot dogs under a little umbrella of a shelter. She reached for one, but the man that was running it grabbed her wrist hard.
"What are you doin' there, girl?! Stealin's illegal, and I won't have some poor peasant steal some of my hot dogs!" The man yelled, with his heavy Texan accent, in her face, still gripping her wrist painfully.
"Ow! Let go of me!" The girl squeaked in surprise, yanking her wrist out of the man's grip and running off.
Chorus
I'm alone, on my own, and that's all I know,
I'll be strong, I'll be wrong, oh but life
goes on,
I'm just a girl, trying to find a place in,
This world,
Tears poured down her face as she messaged her wrist. She sat next to a large, green dumpster in an alley way. As if the weather felt bad for the girl, the rain went away, and the sun poked around the corner of the gray clouds. She lifted her bright blue eyes to the sky, and smiled as sunshine poured through, warming up her wet clothes. Feeling tired all of a sudden, she rested her head on her arms, and fell asleep.
Got the radio on, my old blue jeans,
And I'm wearing my heart on my sleeve,
Feeling lucky today, got the sunshine,
Could you tell me what more do I need,
And tomorrow's just a mystery, oh yeah,
But that's ok,
The next morning, the girl stretched and yawned, blinking the sleep out of her eyes. She sat up, rubbing her eyes from the sleep dirt. Hearing a loud, rumbling sound, she looked around the alley way fearfully, thinking it was some stray dog. However, when she heard it again she looked down at her stomach, and giggled quietly.
Chorus
I'm alone, on my own, and that's all I know,
I'll be strong, I'll be wrong, oh but life
goes on,
I'm just a girl, trying to find a place in,
This world,
Maybe I'm just a girl on a mission,
But I'm ready to fly,
Peaking her head around the corner of the dumpster, she saw that there was a box of hot dogs that the abusive man left behind. Rushing over there, she grabbed two packages. Hearing her stomach again, however, she thought twice, and took the whole box.She sat down behind the dumpster again, yanking out two hot dogs, one in each hand, and munched on them pleasantly. She could see gray clouds covering up the sun, preparing their downpour of rain. The little girl, however horrible her situation was at the moment, smiled.
Chorus
I'm alone, on my own, and that's all I know,
I'll be strong, I'll be wrong, oh but life
goes on,
I'm alone, on my own, and that's all I know,
I'll be strong, I'll be wrong, oh but life
goes on,
I'm just a girl, trying to find a place in this
world,
Oh I'm just a girl,
Oh I'm just a girl,
Oh I'm just a girl,
