Isn't That Always the Way?

"Damn it."

"What?"

"It's broken."

"What's broken?"

"The EMF meter," Dean growled, whacking the meter against the palm of his hand.

"What's wrong with it?" Sam took a seat next to his brother.

"Don't know yet.

"You checked the batteries?"

Dean shot him a death glare. "'course I checked the batteries. I'm not a nitwit. Where's our screwdriver?"

"Isn't it in the bag?"

"No."

"Must be in the trunk then."

Dean headed for the Impala, only to return moments later with a wholly sheepish look on his face.

"What?" Sam asked.

Dean ducked his head. "The batteries were in backwards."
