They looked into each others eyes

And saw the promise deep inside

A love so pure, so deep, so true

A love eternal, though still new

Terrible news, they found that day

A war to take him far away

Their love was strong, she'd wait for him

Her devotion, distance could not dim

The woman sipped upon her tea

The man fell down upon his knees

And as the woman cit her cake

Her husband - well, he would never wake

The telgram arrives as she brushed her hair

The news it brought left her in despair

But all their love and short lived jpy

Would still live on - in their baby boy.
