"So that's what you do in Anbu missions?" Sasuke said with a horrified face, cupping his own cheeks in disbelief. Itachi stared at his little brother.

"Yeah, so?" he said, with an emotionless tone. "Why do you kill people¡K? Doesn't it hurt?" Sasuke pressed his hand against his own chest and clutched the navy blue cloth. The older Uchiha shook his head, "No, why would it? It's just like squashing a bug, it's nothing." Sasuke bit down hard on his lips, "You can't kill people!" He said loudly, which almost caught Itachi by surprise. He grabbed his older brother's wrist feebly. Itachi pulled it away from him, "Why shouldn't I? Is there a problem with killing other people? I don't let them feel any pain, you know, its so quick, it's like it never happened," Itachi's expression remained as emotionless as ever. "NO!" Sasuke latched himself to his brother's body, with tears running down his pale cheeks tinted with a light red tinge of frustration. "You can't¡Kkill people," he paused to sob a little, "Because¡Kbecause, just because you just can't¡KI would be sad if you did¡K"

Itachi looked at his little brother, "Get off of me." He pushed his little brother's body away from his own.

=+=

"My brother asked me a confusing questions yesterday," Itachi put on his vest for his Anbu mission gear.

"Oh?" Kakashi looked at the Uchiha prodigy, lifting an eyebrow while pulling on his gloves, "What'd he ask?"

Itachi looked up at the ceiling while absently buckling up his boots, "He asked me why I killed on my missions, when he couldn't really answer it himself¡K"

Kakashi took his katana out of the rack casually and strapped it to his back. "Well, then what'd you say back you him? Nothing nice, I presume¡K" Kakashi had a lame expression on his face, Itachi could tell, "I didn't say anything." The Uchiha grabbed his mask and set it aside and buckled on hit other shoe. "But even I couldn't answer the question too¡K" Itachi looked down at the concrete floor of the Anbu changing room. Kakashi smiled underneath his mask, "I can tell that Sasuke was pretty flustered by your question, you shouldn't be so cold¡K"

"He'll learn," Itachi picked up his mask as well and brought it up to his face, "But I don't see anything wrong with killing other people¡K"

The older man sighed, putting on his own Anbu mask over his other one, "It's simple, Itachi," He tossed the captain his katana.

"It's because there will always be someone who would grieve."
