Hello people of fanfiction. I'm TheRealDigiGal, and this is my very first story I'm putting up and thank you for clicking or tapping or whatever you did to get in here, on that title (why did that sound like a YouTube intro?). Anyways, I will not keep you from reading my very first chapter of my very first story being put up. Without further ado...

The Wings Of Wonder!

Chapter One (Sarah's pov), The First Day:

"Come on Sarah. We're going to be late!," my brother shouts to me, waking me up from a peaceful sleep. I yawn and stand, walking across my room to open the door. He was on the other side, and looks at me, annoyed. "Finally. You seem to have forgotten that today is the first day of training."

"Oh no! I forgot. Thank you for waking me up, Tyler," I say. I quickly close the door, hearing him say it was no problem from the other side.

In less than two minutes, I had to brush my wavy multi-colored blue hair, brush my teeth, and change into my day clothing, which is a pair of shorts with a hot pink top and a blue jacket, and put on my special bracelet my best friend made for me on my last birthday. A week before she died. It would be difficult, but I would manage.

I finish getting ready just a minute later than I had hoped, and I leave my room to see that Tyler was still standing there. "I'm ready."

He nods. "Good. Now we need to go!"

We run down the hall, passing by a few other rooms for other army members as well as other recruits in that halls, who watch us confused as we run by. My brother and I joined the Sky army a week ago. It was the general of the army that was a frog and the one with the black and red checkered jacket that found us, the two of us dying of thirst and hunger, and barely able to even open our eyes. They had brought us to the Sky Army base, taking us to the infirmary for the nurses to help us regain strengths, before General Sky, the leader of the Sky Army, and his second in command General Deadlox came and offered us to join.

We, of course, accepted.

We finally run into the training room, just before the class would start and when we look around, we see that everyone else was already awake and waiting. Most were just talking about things that may have happened the night before, others dueling or practicing their fighting moves against dummies.

"You decided to join us today then?," somebody says from behind me. I turn, and I see a boy with brown hair covering one eye. The uncovered eye was redish brown and he was also wearing green headphones. He was leaning against the wall.

I quickly kneel down. "General Deadlox," I say. "I forgot about today. I slept in but Tyler, or my brother, woke me up to get me to come. If there is anyone you need to punish, punish me."

He grabs my arm and pulls me up gently. "Your not late. There is no punishment. But if you were late, the worst punishment you could get would be washing the dishes. If you're worried about it happening again, I'd recommend an alarm clock," he says. "Now get to your class. It's just about to start."

He then walks away, and I turn to see Tyler looking at me. "Come on Sarah. We need to get to our group," he says. He grabs my arm and pulls me to the group of people who were gathering in the center of the room. When we get there, we see the teacher for today, MinecraftUniverse, TrueMU, or Jason, in the center of the crowd.

He begins to speak. "Okay class. Today, since it is the first day for all of you, I will be teaching you about the main weapon. A sword," he says. He then presses a button and five swords appear in front of us. He walks up to a brown one. "This is a wooden sword. It is the weakest of all the swords." He then walks up to a grey sword. "This sword is a stone sword. It is better than the wood sword but is still weak." He walks over to a white and light grey sword. "This is an iron sword. It is very effective for fighting off hostiles that aren't squids." He then walk over to a yellow sword. "This is a golden, or butter, sword. It is the most useful for squid wars. It is the main weapon for the Sky army." He then walks over to a blue sword. "This is a diamond sword. It is the strongest sword except for against squids, where it is the butter sword. It is the most useful for fighting off all other hostiles like the iron sword."

MinecraftUniverse then presses a button and we each get one of every sword. "What I want each of you to do, is walk into a mob chamber where we will throw mobs at you to kill. After a certain amount of time, I will let you out and you will then fill out a work sheet on each sword. Remember to use every sword against the enemy. The first up is..." He pauses to glance at a piece of paper. "Sarah Frilow."

I gulp as my name is called. Everyone looks at me as I make my over to an iron door and I get put inside. There were the five different swards hung up on the wall, and I walk over to them.

"Sarah. This is General HuskyMudkipz," I hear, and look around until I see a small room above. "I'm in charge of watching you and the other recruits. If you're in danger or can't fight anymore, just shout and I'll stop the monsters. Got it?" I nod. "Okay. Start off with the wooden sword."

The mobs start as soon as I grab the sword, and I find it was taking a while to kill them. After a few minutes he tells me to switch to the Stone sword, and I slowly work my way up to the diamond sword. By then I had gotten the hang of battling each kind of monster, but all the same, I was tired. That's why it was such a relief when HuskyMudkipz dismissed me from the chamber, and the iron door opened for me to walk out.

When I leave MinecraftUniverse hands me some water and a notebook and quill, telling me to answer the questions inside. I drink the water as I answer the questions, arms already beginning to turn sore and my eyes beginning to droop from exhaustion. 'Which sword degraded the fastest?,' was the first question, and I answer, 'The wooden sword degraded the fastest. I would not use it during a squid battle.' There were many other questions, all ranging in amount of answers and type of question, but I finally finish by the end of the class.

I didn't even know that it was dinner already as I stand and make my way to my room. Still exhausted from the mob chamber, I stumble into my room and collapse on my bed. Then I hear a knock on my door, stand, and walk over, opening it to see Tyler standing there.

"Hey sis. I brought you dinner. You seemed exhausted from the mob chamber so I thought you'd be hungry as well." I let him in and I eat the food, me sitting on my bed while he sits at my desk, me barely able to stay awake.

As soon as I was done, I lay down in my bed and fall asleep almost instantly. Before I do fall asleep though, I hear my brother laugh, kiss me on the cheek, pull the covers over me, and then leave my room and close my door carefully.

That was an abrupt ending. Sorry for the short chapter. I promise they will start getting longer. Thank you for reading. I plan on updating every day, maybe more depending on if I'm busy or not. Well, I guess I will talk to you guys later. Bye!

Edit: I finally edited this chapter, so if you're reading it through again, pay closer attention to the story. I've added a lot more detail and changed the style of writing to the kind I have now, so now it isn't chapters like 'she did this, then this happened, and then this. I then did this, blah blah blah...', and is now the kind of style where it flows easier (at least to me. It's very difficult to judge your own writing fairly). If you're reading this for the first time, be happy that you didn't have to read the terrible quality it had been (again, difficult to judge your own writing XP). Hope you enjoy the better quality chapters!
