This is set after the war. I assure you, this one sounds very happy at first. But I warn you, don't expect anything happy from me.

Tris sits in Tobias' arms contently, watching a film on the television. They have both been very happy lately, as Tris is pregnant.

They talked about it for a couple of years, not really agreeing on a decision for quite some time, until 8 months ago when they finally made one.

The couple have been married for 3 years, both in their twenties when they finally tied the knot. It's been a bumpy road, but nonetheless a good one at the end.

She now knows that everything gets better after it gets worse.

As they both watch the film, Tris flinches a little in pain.

"What does the baby do that hurts you?" Tobias asks, clearly curious.

"It's not really the baby, it's just my body adjusting I think." Tris thinks aloud. "I usually get a cramp or two. It's alright."

She gives him a a convincing smile, but becomes unconvincing rarely quick as she grimaces in pain.

Tobias gives her a concerning look but she denies it, shaking her head.

When the film finishes, Tris is now completely in pain.

"Tobias, I should go to the doctor."

He nods his head quickly, picking her up and bringing her to the car, a suitcase in the trunk filled with her things if this did happen.

The doctors take her into a room right away, leaving him in the dark.

Will she be okay?

Will the baby be okay?

It is a month early, what if it has something wrong with it?

Only time will tell.

The nurse comes back 3 hours later, shaking him awake from the chair.

"Mr. Eaton?" She asks politely.

"Yes." He replies, almost instantly.

"You have a daughter, her name is Elly."

He beams, very excited.

"But, I have other news." She says, sighing at the end.

Tobias narrows his eyes.

"One, Elly will be staying here until she grows a little stronger."

He sighs at that, wanting to hold her now.

"But there is another thing. Your wife passed away during birth, I'm so sorry." She scurries off, not wanting a reaction.

What? No, that can't be right. They have the facts wrong. Right?

He puts his head in his hands, stifling a sob.

Right?

He can't raise a child on his own, not without Tris. He would be far dead without her.

Now she's gone, leaving him with what was left of her.

Their love.

Hello. I feel like I have no soul right now. I just made a mother die in child birth, leaving her husband pretty devastated. Great.

Tell me what you think!
