Father-Daughter Date
"Alright Johnna, are you ready to go?" Nick asked the little girl.
"Yeah." She responded excitedly.
Once a month each child got to go somewhere fun with one of their parents, just them, without the other siblings so Nick and Jackie could have some one on one time with each child. Every month they would alternate, one month would be father-daughter, mother-son, and then the next month they would do father-son, mother-daughter and this month it was father-daughter, mother-son month and today was Johnna's turn to do something fun with her daddy.
Johnna chose to go have lunch at a fast food joint and then play in the play area of the restaurant and then maybe have some ice cream after.
"Me play?" She asked as soon as they got to the restaurant.
"After we eat our lunch kiddo." Nick responds with a laugh.
"What kind of soda do you want?" Nick asked her after the woman behind the counter had handed him two cups.
"Beer." She replied.
Nick looked at her wide eyed for a couple seconds before he realized what she wanted.
"Oh, root beer?" He asked with a chuckle.
"Yeah." The little girl said innocently as if to say what did you think I meant?
After getting their drinks Nick carried the tray of food over to a table.
"Is it good?" Nick asked her as she stuck a fry into her mouth.
She grinned at him and nodded her head yes.
It amazed Nick how much the child sitting across from him looked like Jackie. Jasmine was his twin and Johnna was Jackie's.
After they had finished their lunch Johnna got to play in the play area, she started playing with another little girl there and the two girls played for about an hour before Johnna's new friend had to leave with her mother.
"Can me have ice cream now dada?" The child asked after her friend had left.
"Yep, but let's wash our hands first." He told her.
Jackie would kill me if I let her eat something without washing her hands after she played in that dirty thing Nick thought to himself.
After Johnna had washed her hands they went back up to the ordering counter.
"What kind of ice cream do you want?" He asked her.
"Chocolate ice cream cone." She replied.
He looked at the menu and then said "Oh sweetie they don't have chocolate ice cream that can go in a cone here, you can either have vanilla ice cream in a cone or you can have it in a bowl and they can put chocolate sauce on it for you." (A chocolate sundae)
"Chocolate sauce." She replied.
"Alright, she'll have a chocolate sundae and I'll have a caramel sundae please." Nick told the cashier.
"Alright those will be right out."
"Thank you." Nick said.
"Yummy." Johnna told Nick as she began eating her ice cream.
Nick smiled at her.
Once they had finished their ice cream they left and headed home.
"Did you have fun with daddy?" Nick asked her during the drive home.
"Yeah." She answered happily.
Nick smiled, he had had fun too, he loved it when he got to spend one on one time with his children.
