NARCISSUS' SONG

A/N: My first Mythological FanFic, well I got no more words to say. So enjoy ^_^

A beautiful spring time, winter walked away, coldness blew away and changed into warmth, flowers started to bloom, bears came out from their home, and the sun gave a strong shiny ray.

A young man, with brown hair, and dashing green eyes, walked with a wooden bucket on his hand to the pool.

This young man is so handsome, all women caught a glimpse on him fell in love, and that's what happened to Echo a nymph.

Echo always repeated the last sentence or word a person said, like an echo, just like her name Echo.

The young man climbed down the hill, and he stopped by the pool. His name is Narcissus, Narcissus knelt and he dipped his bucket to the water, and he saw his own reflection.

"What a beauty," Narcissus demanded in awe; he pulled his hand and placed the bucket filled with water next to him.

"His hair falls perfectly beauty," he said, "His eyes are shining, and it beat the stars shine," Narcissus complimented himself.

Then Echo came, she hid behind a tree, and she accidentally step on a dry branch, until it made a crack sound.

"Who's that?" Narcissus asked, he looked around, and saw no one.

"Just show yourself, and don't be shy," he asked once more.

Then Echo repeated, "Don't be shy…"

Narcissus' eyes widened, "You there behind the tree, show yourself," he said with fears overwhelmed his face.

Echo revealed herself, "Show yourself…" she said.

Narcissus narrowed his eyes, "Who are you? What's your name?"

Echo bit her lips, as much as she wants to tell his her name, she can't, and she repeated Narcissus' words, "What's your name…."

Narcissus was enraged, "Get lost if you don't have words to speak with me!" he yelled.

Echo was shocked, she cupped her mouth with her hands, tears began to flow on her cheek, and she ran away. Before she could say that she loves Narcissus.

"Great, now I can see my beauty again," Narcissus knelt next to the pool, he fixed his hair, "I'm so beautiful," he sighed.

And then Narcissus began to sing,

"Oh, my eyes, my eyes make the stars look like they're not shinin'

My hair, my hair falls perfectly without me tryin'

I'm so beautiful

And I tell myself everyday

Yeah, I know, I know when I compliment me

I won't believe me

And it's so, it's so sad to think that I don't see what I see

But every time I ask myself do I look okay?

I say

When I see my face there's not a thing

That I would change

'Cause I am amazing just the way I am

And when I smile

The whole world stops and stares for a while

'Cause I am amazing just the way I am

…."

Narcissus finished his song with his hands on his cheek, "Oh, I am very beautiful," he sighed.

Then day after day Narcissus won't leave his reflection alone, he kept staring at it until he died.

A flower grew next to the pool, exactly growing on Narcissus death place, and so we called that flower until now Narcissus.
