The sweat beaded on Matron Fal'cha's face. Even though she had suffered the pangs of birth before, every time felt like the first to her. Despite the rumors that she felt no pain, her abdomen felt as if it was aflame, and she could feel a great fist squeezing, almost as if Lloth herself was forcing the child out of her. "Breathe, Matron. You must breathe regularly," said Fal'cha's firstborn daughter, Malice. Fal'cha was enraged. "I know that, you stupid worm! I have borne this entire house! Keep silent like the miserable iblith's nostril you are!" Fal'cha steeled herself, said a silent prayer to Lloth, and pushed with all her might. A sudden relaxation came over her, and a crying filled the room. Malice held up a large baby drow, and with a disgusted look on her face, proclaimed, "It is a male. The secondboy of House Do'Urden has been born. What shall his name be?" Fal'Cha stared at the boy, then looked up. Holding the holy dagger of Daermon Na'shez'Baernon in her left hand, she placed the spider symbol on the babe's head. "His name," she proclaimed, "is Zaknafein."
