A/N- So this song fic was based on the song Something by the Beatles, but when I heard it sung it was sung by Jude from Across the Universe. (If you haven't seen it I highly suggest you see it). I was listening to this in my truck one day while I was cleaning it. It came on and played through the first verse and I sat up and screamed "EDWARD!" Edward sat on the edge of the bed and stared at the sleeping figure that was Bella. Her chest rose rhythmically with her breathing and she tossed once and awhile, muttering something now and then. This was what made her Bella, Edward thought to himself. The little human things are what made loving her all the better. Watching her sleep, breathe, even eat the repulsive stuff she called food. But she wanted to throw it all way for him, so that she wouldn't have to be protected like a child. He couldn't even think it. She'd be safe. A small voice whispered in the back of his mind. NO! He replied mentally blocking out he voice's reasoning.
I don't want to leave her now,

Bella's voice drew him out of his thought. "Edward" she muttered still asleep. The pain in her voice made something in him clench and twist in a painful matter. He reached over and stroked her warm cheek. He looked at the battered copy of Weathering Heights slumped so that is lay flat against desk where the essay for English Bella had been struggling over sat unfinished.

He thought back to the beginning of last year .The bumbling charming girl had caught his attention in the most inconvenient of ways the first day of school, sending him into near homicidal behavior. A pang of pain ran through his stomach. He knew his eyes were pitch colored but he refused to let Bella out of his sight for more than the time it took Charlie, Bella's father, to fall asleep. Even then, it made him uneasy to think of her alone. Who knew the trouble she would get herself into?He frowned

The rain tapped on the window reminding him of the reason that Carlisle had settled them in this area. Bella tossed again and pulled on his hand. In some part of her sleeping mind she must have know he was there. Gently he lay down next to her and fidgeted with a strand of her brown hair. She smiled dreamily and nestled closer to his stone chest, sighing. He wrapped his arms around her. Bella shivered and sighed again.
"Edward I love you" she whispered.
"I know. I loved you too." he whispered into her hair, knowing somewhere in her dream she heard him.
