White Lightning

The darkness is rising, but there is light. The battle is being lost, but still she can fight. The power of shadows could never be beaten until now. By the most dangerous girl in existence.

1. Preface

I felt the darkness close in around me. It was choking me, trying to capture me in my own despair. I couldn't move. I didn't want to. The darkness was controlling me.

I had tried so long to keep it away. To be free of the pain that it put me in. But now it's stronger, and I am too weak. I know I need to get it away from me; to escape. But my mind was no longer my own, and I felt myself sinking, deep down into the endless pit of shadows, a place I know I'd never return from. But I'm finished, ready to give myself up to the monster inside.

A shout cut through the dark veil around me. I knew that voice, and it ever so slightly pulled me back to reality. Not much, but it was enough.

I felt the energy surge through me, filling my body with power. It built up inside me, until I couldn't contain it anymore.

The light was so immense, so beautiful, but it only lasted for a second.

Then there was silence.

My mind became my own again, with just one thought in it.
