Demyx arrives one day.
"You know, Roxas, you can't be happy without him."
He's tried being the good friend.
Roxas hears the uncertainty. "I was never happy with him."
Demyx sits and waits.
Roxas doesn't have anything left to say.
"You could call him." It's not an order.
Roxas dies a little. "Don't be ridiculous."
Demyx didn't think that he was.

Roxas wonders why the days are longer now.
He wonders why he still has Axel's phone number.

Axel answers on the 6th ring.
"You called." It's the same.
"You answered." It's completely different.

Roxas thinks that Axel is the same.
Axel can't say what's different about Roxas.
"You've grown taller."
Silence returns, and Axel might be wrong about this.
Roxas smiles without his heart.
Axel lets out the breath he's been holding.
It's a start.
