REMINDER, I do not own Sega or anything related...
It was a cold night, there were tired freedom fighters, the sick freedom fighters, and the new freedom fighters. All huddled together in a trench, the only good thing of it being December was that the ice froze the gooey mud, making it easier to walk. Coming from eggman's trench listening closely, they could hear them singing "Silent Night" . Tails, who seemed suspicious, poked his head up over the trench, usually a sniper would pick him off, but instead...there was no shots fired! Just then Sonic poked his head out, once again no sniper shots! soon everyone was attemping to get a spot to look out, and yet no enemy snipers!
"Strange.." Tails commented, "what do you make of it Sonic?" looking towards his friend
"No Clue bud." replied Sonic.
Just then Shadow joined in "Maybe they are having an unofficial ceasefire!"
Tails decided to find out, he leaned his rifle against the trench wall and climbed up the ladder, suddenly Sonic heard a shout
"ZE ENEMY!" came a shout from the enemy trench, Tails took off his cap and held it up, just then one of eggman's troops climbed out, he also had no rifle and he also held his cap up, eggman's troops cautiously approached, soon both Sonic's troops and eggman's troops were out in the middle of the field, chatting and exchanging gifts, just then Knuckles gave a shout
"Football!" He laughed as he kicked a ball from the trench, everyone took off their overcoats and had a game of football.
but 30 minutes later, they were called back to their Trench to become enemies once again
"Maybe they aren't bad" Commented Knuckles
Tails joined in "maybe they were forced, like us"
Sonic then butted in "maybe..but I guess we will never know.."
This story is inspired by the events on the western front on Christmas 1914...I been watching to many WW1 movies...
