The Ultimate Sacrifice
Author Notes: hey guys I put this story online for a friend of mine.
Kaboom! A once prosperous city exploded like it had been hit with a meteorite. In less then a split second after the explosion all of what remained were the ruins of a once beautiful metropolis now ruins. The cause of the destruction was hovered 5 miles over the ruins, the creature was a dragon the scales were of the color of night during the full moon and white spots covering most of his body making it a perfect match for surroundings night sky.
As it hovered over the ruins it thought, "these humans are responsible for my people's near extinction. Now only a handful of us remain because of empty promises and continuos so called accidents. No human shall escape my wrath I shall eliminate the race."
Suddenly a voice spoke up out of nowhere saying, "taking your problems out on us won't solve your people's problem Nightshade."
The Drake jerked his head to the location of the voice, and was surprised to see a rather beautiful (by his standards) young, hazel-eyed lady, no older then 16, wearing a dress of pure white silk with straight, light brown hair.
For a second he stared at her then finally spoke and said, "well if it isn't Lady Krystal, fancy seeing you hereā¦"
But before he could finish his sentence she said "your attack was pointless since we evacuated the entire city before you came or did you not notice?"
You probably knew what my intentions were since you are a high summoner as well as an expert spell caster so no it doesn't surprise me." He replied.
"you flatter me Nightshade."
"well I'm only stating the facts about you." He said in a sarcastic voice.
"well what you say is true. Alas dear drake, for I will never be able to complete my pilgrimage against Sin."
"why, whatever do you mean Lady Krystal?"
"Haven't I been you heard? The Fayth in the temple of Besaid has lost it's power and turned to stone."
"So?"
"So they asked for volunteers to be the new Fayth and aeon of the temple."
"who was the volunteer?" he asked.
Krystal replied. "I was the one who chose to become the Fayth."
"What!? Are you serious!" he roared.
"Yes." She said in a small voice.
"But why?"
"Because no onelse would volunteer and I want to help future summoners in their pilgrimage to free Spira from Sin's grasp!"
"So you came to bid me farewell then. Am I right my lady?"
"No Nightshade I came here to ask you to be my guardian until we reach The Zanarkand Ruins."
"So you are going to see the Lady Yunalesca, am I correct in saying so?" he asked.
"Yes Nightshade you are correct." She replied.
"Well if we are heading there then we might as well fly there since we can get there twice as fast and avoid any fiends, with exception to those that can fly."
"That sounds good" she replied then asked, "how fast can you fly?"
"Fast enough to get there within 13 hours."
Lady Krystal jumped onto Nightshade's back and flew off to The Zanarkand Ruins.
