burn the rain away
###
Gray is Juvia's sun.
There simply are no words more accurate than this, Juvia thinks. Juvia is the rain. And – as cold as the ice mage may be – Gray is her sun. The one who took the rain away. The one that makes her happy.
Gray is Juvia's everything.
.
The sun feels nice on her face as she watches her first sunset. She never knew there was something so beautiful. She can't find the right words for the wonder before her eyes, but she knows it's all thanks to her Gray-sama that she can see it. She knows that she will forever be thankful to him.
.
Gray shines brightly, so brightly that it blinds Juvia sometimes. How he cares for his friends and bow much he hides it behind that cold facade. He shines too brightly for someone who only ever got to see the clouds and Juvia can't help but fall in love with him even more.
.
He talks to her more often now, laughing comfortably around her and asking her to accompany him more often. Under the bright sun of Magnolia, Juvia almost feels as if her very dreams are coming true, only that she sees the smile on her Gray-sama's face and thinks that this is worth more than any dream.
.
Juvia doesn't like the nighttime. It's dark and there is no sun and it reminds her too much of despair and who she was before. She doesn't ever want to go back to that life, but in the darkness, there are shadows that keep whispering that the sun can't shine forever.
But how she wishes it would.
.
The reflection of the sun in the water is beautiful and Juvia likes to come to the river and watch it when she has nothing else to do. It calms her and she finds herself wondering if she and Gray can be that beautiful sometime.
.
After the battle with the dragons, Juvia gets so very scared when she can't see the sun for a long time. It was dark back then, too, and Juvia is reminded of a future that almost happened – did happen. Because she knows what she remembers and the horrible memory of Gray getting hit after he pushes her out of the way is just too much to bear sometimes.
.
The sun glows a cold white as the snow falls. She killed his father. Juvia killed Gray-sama's father. She doesn't know what to do anymore. Gray breaks down and she feels his tears running hot as he holds on to her.
It's the first time Juvia has ever seen him cry.
.
They are living together. The guild has disbanded and Juvia feels so very lost sometimes, but under the hot, hot sun, she lives with Gray and eats and trains with him. She's never been closer to him and she can't help but dread the day this is going to end.
.
The sun is burning as she looks up at the sky.
Juvia wants to know what she did wrong. What the reason for the empty place at the table is. The sun is still there, as if mocking her that Gray-sama isn't. The sun is burning her and Juvia thinks it would be better if the rain washed it all away again.
