In The End
Kourin Lucrece
Disclaimer: Nope.
Author's Note: I took some liberties to work for this fic, and the sister-story that's in the works. The episode "Vacation" really made an impression, and this was the result. Enjoy!

Rube was always careful to make sure that everything was in order. It was just the way he was. In a way it was his job. Even knowing that Georgia had set up an entire database for finding the last thoughts, he spent the next evening copying them into his ledger to be sure.
He always remembered every person he reaped. Knowing their last thoughts made it seem as though no one would be forgotten. That was what everyone feared, wasn't it? The number of regrets that he found, however, always staggered him. As Daisy had once noticed, it seemed that there should be more... That people should have been happier.
There were several that gave him pause. And Rube knew that his view had been slightly, but permanently, altered. And maybe that wasn't such a bad thing…

Short, no real plot... But I liked it. Quick change - someone pointed out that the show was Washington, not California. Thanks! Reviews?
