These are my last words. Before I experience my end at the hands of Shingami, the god of Death, I will take the Kyuubi down with me—for the future of Konoha, my home… Most people there would be saying I'm throwing my life away if I give myself up to seal the fox demon inside of my son. They're wrong. I have no regrets about what I'm about to do for the future of the world.
I'm standing on top of my enormous reptilian comrade, Gamabunta, right now. I kneel on top of his gigantic head and pat him, "Gamabunta." I say slowly, "Thank you for being a loyal subordinate; it's a pity we couldn't have one last drink of sake together." Gamabunta puffs some smoke through his pipe and mumbles a few words with that cavernous mouth of his. Just goodbyes. I guess he hates saying them like me. I stand up, and take one last look at my robes, my fiery-white robes and the "Fire" kanji on my royal-like hat. These things represent my position as Hokage. But I should show them what being a Hokage is really about.
The huge Kyuubi fox demon wreaks destruction and killing fellow friends in front of my eyes. I can't stand this hellish sight any longer. Many friends have died today giving up their lives to protect the village of Konoha. I bow my head in deep respect for them; after all, I'll be joining them soon. Your deaths shall not be in vain, my fallen comrades. I will make sure of that tonight.
I control the threads of fate now. Death, or God, if there is one, cannot stop me. The future is in my hands and I choose for it to be free of the pain and suffering that my people have experienced over the past ten years. I'm not going to regret what I'm about to do, because I will give up my life for my world, my home, my son...and my people. For the ones that have died on this bloody night, I will make tomorrow a clean and lucid morning. For those of us with a past that pains us when we remember it, I will create a bright future where you can bask in peace without worry. To whoever finds this last remnant of my memory, my last moments, please give it to my son so he knows why I did this.

The last moments of my valorous deeds were not in vain; I sealed the fox demon away in the navel of my son, and he will be able to put the fox demon's power to use to protect Konoha and its people. Son, if you're listening to this, I'm sorry you had to live such a hard life.
