A cream tabby she-cat slowly awakened into an unfamiliar place. She stood, unsurprised, as she was used to visiting StarClan in her dreams almost every night. But as her vision cleared up, a hint of anxiety fluttered in the medicine cat's chest, as she could not recognize this odd, tranquil forest. Looking around, her eyes caught on a vibrant red glow that shone upon the widely spread trees. Padding to the area where the light was centered, she tipped her head and called out timidly, "Hello? Is anyone there?" The delicate she-cat leaped back in surprise as she was answered with the flap of wings overhead. She gasped, mouth gaping, as a large, magestic bird landed in front of her. The bird's long, orange feathers flickered with quietly crackling flames. For a moment, she stared into the fire bird's hypnotic black eyes, and brought herself to her paws as a voice came from the gentle creature.
"Through times of great misery, a savior will emerge from the stars."
She could have sworn, in his eyes- or at least she assumed it was a he due to its voice- she saw tears. And there was something familliar about that voice... She wanted to speak, but he shot into the air before she could respond, fire trailing behind him like a flare from the sun.
Now she was all alone in the eerie reddish forest.
Time of great misery... what would happen to the Clan?
Before the she-cat could finish her thoughts, fire blazed in a ring around her, spreading out through the forest, touching only the ground and not the trees. Suddenly, three trees around her caught fire in the same heartbeat, as a fourth seemed to be rotting. Yet oddly the corrupted tree seemed to be growing. Could this be a sign? The thought was in the back of her head as the ring of fire started closing in around her, absorbing her and swallowing her whole.
