Introduction (Chapter Zero)

I don't know how long I've been here, just that they aren't human. They've kept me locked in this godforsaken cell since I woke up, and as far as I can tell this is where I'll stay for what I can only assume will be the rest of my life. They've tried communicating with me, but they speak in a different language. It almost resembles Latin, but not closely enough for me to understand anything. They seem to be working on a communicator of some sort, because each time they come in here they turn on some device that makes their language clearer. I almost recognize two of them, but my memory is muddled. That's right, I didn't mention that. I can't remember anything about myself. I remember useless facts about Earth and it's history, but I can never remember anything about myself. I get fragments of things, names, dates, but nothing big. It's killing me.

I can hear them walking down the hallway again. I look through the front of my cell, which is just energy. Unfortunately, that energy also delivers a nasty shock, which I learned moments after being thrown in here. My arm still hurts.

They open the front of my cell, and I look up at the one they've sent in. It's one of the ones I recognize, or at least try to. In it's hands it holds the restraints and signals for me to get up. I know what's coming. I stand up, I know what happens if I try to resist. I hold my arms forward and it puts the restraints around my wrists and tightens them until I'm sure my hands are about to fall off. I follow it to the operating room and lay down on the table. Another one of them stabs my arm with a needle, and the room quickly begins to fade.
