Cap's Pov

I sunk deeper in the numbing cold spread through me, I saw the ice manifest on my leg going up but I didn't stop it; I didn't struggle; I didn't move.

Until I heard it, a hum a sound, it was… nice like a small light in the darkness that's taking over me. The sound faded as my body turned numb and my world turned black.

Jack (Jaqueline) Pov

I panicked, I could see a man in the ice, is he alive? Did I freeze him?!

I dropped my staff kneeling down, putting half my face on the now frozen lake…. A faint heartbeat could be heard.

I lift my head off the ice and stare. A dirty mop of blond hair connected to a now pale face with his eyes closed, the attire he wore was stranger than those other guys doing what they called war. Not far from him was a shield that matches his clothes both having a red, blue, white and some brown as a colour scheme.

"Hello?" I know it was a waste but… I have not talked to anyone so this is the closest thing I could get.

"How'd you get in there?" No response as thought.

"Can…. I stay?" I sat down in front of him.

"I'll take that silence as a yes" I grinned, as I told stories about tricks a pulled on other spirits. I visit him occasionally making sure he's fine it was nice. I became a guardian and had less time to see him, overall I stopped altogether, I still wanted to see him I just got busy.

I stared. That's all I could do. How can I stop this when he's gone?

My bare toes gripped the edge of the now large jagged hole where he once was as one thought passed through my mind.

'Where could he have gone?'
