A/N- This is a poem of a different reaction Legolas might have had on Aragorns' death. Not very... happy. just plain depressing really... oh well. Here it is.

:The Power of Grief

I stare blankly at the stone paved floor'

wishing you yo come back to me

But I know that will never happen

You have left the circles of this world

Gone to join the realm of the dead

Left those you love to grieve

How can you do this to me?

How can you break the hearts of so many?

How can you leave your people to suffer?

I don't know how you could live with the knowledge

Knowing that eventually you would be gone

Feeling yourself growing old, while I stay young

I look back at your still form in complete shame,

for in letting it creep in I have failed you

I have let the hold of grief take over

You told me to be strong for you

Told me not to feel distress

told you to remember you, yet not to be sad

If only I could hear your calm words now

but I cannot, for my mind is blank of the past,

I only see pain, defeat..., death

This sensation of blackness is overwhelming

I do not remember who I was

I'm sorry, my brother

Grief is to powerful a thing to over come
