It was that dreaded time again. Lio just wanted to go home, to persuade her lover into bed for cuddling, or to screw her into the mattress, or maybe both, but no. Thalrior's father had sent word that he wanted to see him immediately, again.

Sure, she could whine, plead, and pout until she got her way, but convincing her dear beloved fiancé to ditch a meeting with his father – and probably that damn sister of his, too – would carry consequences. So instead, she encouraged him to be prompt, reminding him that his father was temperamental when they were late. It was better for them both to remain in the Delion family's good graces, she knew – but that certainly didn't mean she'd allow Thalrior to go anywhere without her.

She never particularly liked Lord Delion, or Raevan for that matter; but even so, she smiled softly to herself as she clung tightly to the arm of her 'Knight', walking with him. Sometimes it felt like they'd been together an eternity, but really, it was only about half a year ago that she'd had to resort to seducing men to get by in the city.

Lio giggled a little to herself – earning her a curious look from her lover, which she simply dismissed with a sweet smile, assuring him she was just thinking – as she remembered how she'd been completely willing to give up her routine to be with a retired mercenary and ex-bodyguard. She wasn't interested in how much he had saved up over the years, she didn't need many material things; but she knew for certain, with the way he treated her, she couldn't possibly do better.

Truthfully, she'd known it from the first time they were intimate together. He'd held her close afterwards and it felt so nice, so right, that she hadn't wanted to move. It wasn't at all like the time Lief had tried to hold her, when she'd been so uncomfortable that she'd outright pushed him off of her and rolled over, flatly stating she wasn't his girlfriend. She tried to cuddle with Rudii once, when she thought she liked him, but he hadn't reciprocated in the least; it was like trying to be affectionate with a wall.

It was so much different with Thalrior. When she'd finally wised up enough to date him, he spoiled her rotten, letting her cling to him constantly and giving her those sweet, loving smiles – he never smiled for anyone else, and that fact alone made her immensely happy.

He was looking at her funny again. She blinked, realizing that she'd been staring up at him the entire walk to his father's manor, and blushed a light pink.

"We're here, Princess," Was all he said, giving her one of those sweet smiles she enjoyed seeing so much. She'd explain her thoughts to him later, she decided, keeping herself firmly attached to his arm as they walked in.
