Warnings: Short

This is a gift for Ivy, my first ever request. ^_^ I hope you like it. :D

Ino has always been pretty. Pretty hair, pretty eyes, pretty face, pretty skin. She's endowed, charismatic, confident.

Worst of all, she knows how to use it. Naruto's not stupid enough to miss that.

The first time she goes out on a mission - after they've moved in together, that is - he misses her, but that's nothing special. Everybody misses their significant other when they're gone.

So he waits, because its not as if he can order her to stay. (He tried that once, and he swears to this day he went momentarily deaf.) He trains diligently, because his growing frustration - and loneliness and unease - needs an outlet.

Wishing time would turn faster is the only time his hope doesn't work. It crawls by, taunting him.

When Ino finally comes back… she doesn't look like she's been on a mission. She looks like she's been on a date (a sleazy date, but a date). Flashy, prominent eyeshadow. Layers of some sort of face-cake. Bright, thick red lipstick. Cheap, suffocating perfume. A revealing kimono that barely constitutes as clothing.

Naruto rages, and Ino rages back.

But he can't say just how sorry he is when he sees the finger and mouth shaped bruises dancing across her skin, marking whats his. He can't say how confused he is. He can't say how morbidly curious he is.

By the time he figures it out, she's already done giving him the silent treatment, and he gets to sleep in the bed with her again.

Those are the long missions. The short missions are much, much worse (even though they're his favorite).

Ino receives summons from Morino Ibiki himself. She goes, cloaked from head to foot. He doesn't know what she does, and he doesn't want to know.

When she comes back, she stumbles, trips. She has this blank look on her face that reminds him of Sasuke (but that's still too painful to touch), and she's pale like him, too.

She can't remember things. Sometimes she forgets who he is - sometimes she forgets who she is. She can't remember Sakura, or Shikamaru, or Chouji - or her parents. Often, she needs help getting home. It reminds Naruto of possession, something he has a disturbing amount of experience in.

So the short missions scare him more, because at least the bruises he can see.

The only way he knows how to heal her from this melancholy is to take her naked body in his arms, and torturously slowly draw sharp, feminine moans from her lips.

That's why they're his favorite.
