A/N So, I'm bored and I had this idea for a Tracy and Mike one-shot. Hope you like it. :-)
This is from Mike POV.
I'd been waiting for this day for ages. It was so long in fact, that I didn't even know how long I'd been waiting. All I knew is that it had seemed like a very long time ago that Tracy had rung me and asked me to meet her in some random park near where she now lived.
I was excited, but it felt weird at the same time. I hadn't seen Tracy for a good few years; what was it going to be like to see her again?
Well, there was only one way to find out.
As I stepped out of the taxi, before paying the driver, my head was spinning. What if she wasn't here? What if I'd come to the wrong place? I took a deep breath and walked into the park.
And then I saw her.
She was unmistakable, sitting on a bench with her back to me: her hair was the same, her figure was the same... Everything about her was just as I remembered it.
As I walked up to her she turned around: she had obviously heard my footsteps. Her face was a picture, a mixture of shock and joy.
And then she got up, and was running towards me as if I was about to disappear. I slowly walked towards her, my arms outstretched, and then enveloped her in a hug.
I felt her head resting on my chest, and the wetness of her tears. It was then I realised I was crying too, and I stroked her hair, hoping it would do something to help us both calm down.
After a few minutes she pulled away and looked at me. For a few moments we just stood like that, both bursting with news but unable to find the words to say it.
After a few moments more I found my voice. "I was worried you wouldn't be here."
She laughed, a beautiful sound that I loved to hear. "Why not?"
"I just, well, I thought I might be in the wrong place, or..."
"Mike, with my directions you could never go wrong!"
We both laughed: we knew how terrible Tracy was at reading a map, let alone giving good directions.
Her eyes then began to glisten with tears. "I've missed you."
I felt tears coming to my own eyes. "I've missed you too."
We stood there for a few moments, before I changed the conversation.
"So, how's the new job going?" I asked. "Do you..."
Tracy shook her head. "I don't want to talk about it. I mean, it's good, and I really enjoy it, but I want to know about everyone at the dumping ground."
I smiled: Tracy still kept her pet name for the dumping ground even after all these years.
"Everyone's doing well," I said. "Some have got fostered, we've had some new arrivals, but overall it's still the same as it's always been."
"What do you mean?" she asked.
I smiled. "Chaotic."
Again we both laughed.
"But it's not quite as chaotic as when a certain Tracy Beaker used to be there."
Tracy smiled, before she wrapped her arms around me, and I did the same to her. I could feel her tears and I rubbed her back to calm her down.
Then, just for a moment, she pulled away and gave me a smile full of love, before resting her head back on my chest.
And, in that moment, I knew she would always be my Tracy.
A/N Hope you liked it. Please review! :-D
