Task: One member of you pairing tries to surprise the other.
Prompts: Avatar Wan and (dialogue) "How was I supposed to know you're favourite colour was 'mauve'?"
My pairing is: Yangchen/Kyoshi
The Spirit World is very mysterious, but so is love.

In the Spirit World a green field surrounded by large flowers and flying spirit animals former Avatar Kyoshi is meditating by a large tree facing a pond in a green tunic. A small rabbit spirit lands on her head and her eyebrow twitches in annoyance.
"You know I don't like to be disturbed hen I meditate…" Kyoshi said without opening her eyes.
The rabbit spirit let out a small purr and Kyoshi opened her eyes, to see the rabbit spirit flap it's ears like wings and float infront of her.
"Hmm, I haven't got any spirit cake for you this time unfortunately. Iroh isn't having a tea party today." Kyoshi said.
The rabbit spirit let out a sad purr and tilted it's head.
"Don't give me that look, you're worse than Yangchen!" Kyoshi snapped.
The rabbit creature rubbed it's furry face against Kyoshi's cheek letting out a happy noise and Yangchen appeared behind them dressed in ceremonial air nomad garbs.
"Hard at work I see." Yangchen said sarcastically.
Kyoshi jumped startled and looked at Yangchen.
"Oh the famous air bender whit." Kyoshi responded with her own sarcasm standing up.
Yangchen looked at Kyoshi grinning from ear to ear.
"What?" Kyoshi asked annoyed.
"Soo…?" Yangchen asked not breaking her gaze or dropping her smile.
What?" Kyoshi asked again annoyed.
"Are you coming to the autumn equinox celebration tonight?" Yangchen.
I can't believe she forgot…I wonder what else she forgot?
"Yes…yes of course, every avatar is going to be there, even Avatar Wan. That's the reason Iroh isn't hosting a tea party, he doesn't want to impose." Kyoshi responded hesitantly.
"Bingo Ky-Ky" Yangchen said.
"Please don't call me that…" Kyoshi said closing her eyes and twitching her eyebrow in annoyance.
Placing a hand on her shoulder and smiling causing Kyoshi to blush Yangchen asked "and while we're on the subject, is there anything else you're forgetting?"
"Oh no, her birthday. I haven't picked up her present" Kyoshi thought blushing again, this time so much her red check shone through the white makeup that usually covers her face.
"Um..yes! I need to go and meet Avatar Korra in the physical world, she's summoning me to talk about umm badgermoles!" Kyoshi said nervously before disappearing in front of Yangchen.
"Wait!" Yangchen said fruitlessly followed by a large sigh when she realised she was too late.
The rabbit spirit then flew up to Yangchen's arms and slept in them as she pet it sadly.
Night had finally reached the Spirit World, firefly spirits lit the night sky like stars. Yangchen was sitting next to a small pond in the spirit valley staring into it blue ripples sadly.
A familiar figure approached Yangchen.
"Hello Avatar Yang Chen." The familiar figure said.
Yangchen turned and nervously bowed.
"Hello, Avatar Wan." Yangchen responded.
"Yangchen , it's fine. You don't have to do that everytime you see me, as rare as that is." Avatar Wan responded laughing and rubbing his head.
Yangchen blushed in embarrassment and looked down at the ground. "Yes Avatar Wan."
"Come on loosen up, I almost prefer you being all moody and staring into the waterfall over there." Wan said laughing again.
Yangchen struggled to respond and continued to stare at her feet.
Avatar Wan sat down infront of her and sighed.
"So are you going to tell me what's wrong or do I have to invoke first Avatar superiority?" Wan said staring at her.
Yangchen again struggled to get the words out, then let out a small sigh and sat infront of Avatar Wan.
"It's about, well love." Yanghen said hesitantly.
Wan raised his eyebrows , intrigued.
"Is it possible for one Avatar to fall in love with another? Is that just the same as loving oneself ? Is that wrong?" Yangchen asked clenching her fists against her thighs.
"Wow, that's pretty heavy stuff." Avatar Wan said allowing himself to fall backwards and stares up at the sky.
"Well I guess the short answer is no." Wan said causing Yangchen to gasp but continued anyway. "No as in The Avatar is not just one person, we are all different people within our own right, we each face our own challenges, we each live our own lives some of us even start our own families and have our own feelings, how else could Avatar Aang find his own love, rather than longing for Avatar Roku's. Love is a most mysterious element and in itself it makes no sense, if it did Avatar Korra might not be on her vacation right now." Wan said, causing Yangchen to smile.
"I see the way that you and Kyoshi act around each other, you truly care for one another and that is rare for anyone to find in the first life or this one, don't loose it." Wan said.
Avatar Yangchen nodded.
"Shouldn't we be getting to the celebration?" Yangchen said.
"Oh yeah, I am the host after all." Wan responded.
The two smiled at one another and faded away, re appearing in a large grassy field with tables filled with spirit cakes and tea, lanterns shining bright in the sky and all of the Avatars were in attendance.
Kyoshi worked her way through the crowed to spot Yungchen and Wan, Kyoshi waved at the two and Wan waved back then looked at Yangchen smiled nodded and walked away.
Avatar Kyoshi ran over and stopped infront of Yangchen a small brown box in her hand.
"I'm sorry." Kysohi said looking at Yangchen
"What?" Yangchen asked
"I'm sorry for leaving, it wasn't about Korra. I really needed to pick up this." Kyoshi said handing over the box.
Yangchen opened the box to find an orange ribbon tied around a small pale purple crystal with the Air Nomad symbol carved into the front.
"How…?" Yangchen tried to ask struggling to get out the words.
"How was I supposed to know you're favourite colour was mauve?" Kyoshi responded with a wide smile looking over at Avatar Aang.
"A little birdy told me it's a very popular colour in the Western Air Temple." Yangchen said quitley putting the necklace on.
"Yangchen, I want you to know this means a lot to me, more than you know and I want you to know I care about you and if you wanted to try for something I do too. Kyoshi said taking a grasp of Yangchen's hand.
Yangchen simply smiled at Kyoshi and planted a small kiss on her lips.
